as a student there its an awful school, drama is constant and the gossiping not only from students but teachers too. As a private school I would expect them not to allow known rapist and guys who have gone to jail for SA into the school but all I heard was give them a second chance. There attendance rate is lower then they say and the in the high school there has been 6 girls from years 7-12 compared to 60 boys. DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL

Once year 1 starts the school becomes a sad joke. The beautiful classroom with wildspace and chickens, that sucks the parents in, becomes a dull demountable. The loving caring teachers become snappy and rude. By year 2, the 35 kids who started prep has been whittled down to 10. If you're the last ones left, be prepared for your child to come home sad every couple weeks after another friend leaves. Something is going wrong in management that so many kids drop out, it effectively becomes a special needs school from yr 2 onwards. Fire the principal and the school might have a chance of surviving.

This school is not what it says on paper and all its advertisements. Where to start... preferential treatment of students, yelling at children, overuse of technology. Additionally, they rave about having a smaller student to teacher ratio...beware... the additional teachers are being used for high need children, of which there are a few...i was shocked to see how little progress my boy had achieved in one year and would have hoped with the higher student to teacher ratio that would have been picked up earlier on... not so. Glad to have changed schools, we are finally experiencing a thriving child.

What an outstanding school this has been over the last 5 years for our daughter. Friends who are local principals and specialist educators have said it's the best school with the most progressive teaching approach. There's no yelling, only respect. There's no dismissive comments from teachers, but there are weekend emails and daily updates about that day's learning.
It's a strong school for us because:
* as parents we have been engaged in our kid's learning, including behavioral and emotional issues our daughter has faced, requiring ongoing one on one conversations with the teachers (2 or 3 per class, plus others coming in with their specialty knowledge) to work through aligning the school and home approach.
* The emotional coaching has been exceptional
* Some teachers have been stronger than others but that's because some of them are international leaders in not only their specific area of education but with their teaching style
* They all receive ongoing training, including weekly child learning reviews and professional development on how to integrate the latest research into their programs from the lead educator. This is achieved on Wed arvos, as students finish at lunch.
* Loads of other teachers want to work there because the culture is awesome, they say. And it is
* I feel.like I am a part of something important for the future of the planet and for the younger generation
* The learning environments are incredible, and progressive which leads to an engagement and love of learning in these kids. It's actually incredible to be a part of. And we know the ins and outs of the teaching approaches because of the daily feedback.
So if there is any kind of issue for me as a parent, I have always felt included and heard within the positive discussions: this is a caring school. There is clearly a deep care from the teachers.
The principal, vice principal and lead educator are all approachable, and are an asset to not only the school but to thr education sector itself.

Bold Park is a school that puts into practice much of the knowledge around what kids need for an excellent learning environment (and childhood!). The teachers are kind and incredibly skilled. The classes sizes are small, with two teachers in each class, PLUS specialist arts and outdoor teachers for all classes, included kindergarten. I have two very different daughters and both have absolutely thrived in this environment. Simple things, like a lack of bells forcing students to move onto new subjects before they’re ready, plenty of learning outside, and deep things, like embracing mistakes, accepting each child for who they are and genuine care really set this school apart. The patron is Maggie Dent and you can see much of the common sense, child centered philosophy applied. My kids don’t learn things by rote here. When they learn a skill or topic, they engage with it deeply and really understand the content. I have offered feedback and suggestions to teachers and management alike (as a small school, it is still growing and shaping its offerings) and it has always been warmly heard. In short, my experience so far with this school has been outstanding.

This school promises the world , they say they put the child first and are progressive however everything they promise is a lie . The vision of this school is awesome but it is NEVER executed . If your child is an independent learner and has no learning issues whatsoever ever Maby it could work for u . How ever if u get the inevitable year 5 , 6 teacher who has taught both years FOREVER who not only yells at the kids all day and shames them she also includes to tell them about in her sick and twisted home life which is so unprofessional. She has her 4 favorite students she chooses for EVERY single class activity , lead roles in the annual school play etc .90 percent of teachers at this VERY expensive school start off as interns as you will see on there web sight . This is a huge down fall as none of the teachers have any experience with special needs students and the school is full of them .The principal doesn’t hire any experienced aids for special needs or any aids at all .He doesn’t send the teachers on any programs to extend there knowledge of learning how to deal with kids with Autism , ADD , OCD etc . I once offered to pay for a teacher to attend a course that would help my son and was declined by the teacher and principal.
.The head of the upper primary never follows up with any Behavior management plans that the teachers are suppose to be enforcing even after paying thousands of dollars getting professionals in to help
To draw up such plans . The principal is on the board so any complaints fall on deaf defensive ears . Students leave in the masses every year and have done every year since we first joined 10 years ago .My son was humiliated by his teacher and taken down to the year one class when he was in year 6 .All because he left the caps lock on on his computer . He was crying Hysterically even before she decided to take him down and shame him . She asked the year one class if any of the students knew how to work a computer properly in front of my son implying he was stupid if the year ones could do it . Absolutely disgusted and appalled by the principals response to this incident and to every single incident we had to deal with at this school . The Principal NEVER puts the child first as promised in the Bold Park parent hand out of empty promises and always backs the teacher regardless off how many complaints the teacher has had against her , and trust me there were a lot ! Many parents have left the school because of this teacher and the way she treats her students . The principal once said to my husband and I ( don’t expect to much from your son going forward into the future ) , He has Dyslexia . Which obviously we were shocked and appalled by.
Well Guess what ?We expect so much from our gorgeous, kind intelligent boy going forward into the future . This boy has excelled in every area of life and learning since leaving Bold Park and his new principal and teacher are so blown away by his talents, intelligence and passion for learning they Are shocked and can’t actually believe he was the opposite at Bold Park . With a great experienced teacher for once our son went up 1 year grade in 3 months for reading , writing and maths . He is now a confident , independent child who absolutely LOVES learning . He can’t fathom what he was doing at BP all those years . I feel so sad for him !When he started his new school he said , ( mum I hadn’t learnt any thing since year one at BP . ) , OMGD mum I LOVE learning ! This was when he left at the start of year 7 .
We have never ever been happier to leave Bold Park . No more stress ! No more toxic environment where the parents talk about how terrible the school and principal are .
Happy kids who finally love to learn ✅✅✅✅

Clear favoritism happening at the school, some kids get yelled at regularly. Teachers are hit and miss. Lots of special needs kids primary onwards but no TA for them.

The school is great for early childhood.Pre primary onwards its changing. There is a lot of turnaround, every year a lot of kids leave and some of the new ones especially in the older years that join are often those kids that cant cope for various reasons in other schools. Can be very unsettling for existong students.
Management/board is very sensitive on new or improved suggestions.

My daughter has been to Bold Park for 3 years now and we love our school, she is fully respected as a person and while her imagination and creativity are nurtured she has learned so very much, especially compared to our freinds attending mainstream schools. her teachers are excellent and so very well trained, they make sure every shild is nurtured depending on it's individual needs, and ensure that the classroom is a safe space for every child. They are especially supportive with children who struggle with sayting bye to parents at drop off. My daughter summed it up nicely the other day when we were driving to school: "You know mum, I think Bold park is just the school for me." While I am sure she would adapt to any educational environment, I love to know that she is in such a beautiful, safe space every day with people who are truly passionate about teaching.

The early childhood programme is outstanding. We have 2 children attending this school and are very happy with the school so far from prekindy to year 1. The staff are all exceptionally motivated and work well together which is reflected in the classroom. The new arts programme includes focus teachers in music, visual arts, drama and dance - and all these teachers are involved in the early childhood and not just the older classes.

Great parent support network and plenty of community events.

I had 2 children attend this school. Our greatest dissatisfaction was with the way the management and committee handled any types of concerns. Whenever there was a concern expressed, the person was isolated and excluded from the community. Also, although we were very keen on the philosophy behind the school, the reality is that once the children start Year 2, it falls apart. There are no good checks and balances, and children fall behind their counterparts in other schools. I think this school would be a good choice for prekindergarten and at the oldest Year 1. Beyond that, buyer beware!
I'm , rate this school
