I hate this school uniform is million dolla.

They care about the uniform more than the child’s education and well being.

I have seen some of the comments here and frankly I am appaled. I am a student here and I think, in all honesty, the school is not that bad. Quite good infact. Ofcourse there are some things that I would change if given the chance, such as some of the stricter rules like those around facial hair, but other than that there is nothing else that bad. Everyone here is just being childish.

This school is disgraceful. It is associated with a terrorist group called Feto yet they vet out kids who are not academically advanced. You can try and role turd in glitter but it's still a turd. Don't send your kids here.

I love this school and I know there is drama much but other than it is an amazing school ( Illawarra, not sure for other campuses)

Amity college is a good school. Some of the students are very nice. But one problem is that this is a Muslim school but thee is sometimes racism and inappropriate content. And uniform is not worth all the money. Other than that all good.

Im a parent at the boys high school. I really like this school and everything it has to offer. But one negative thing about the school is the coolsis comments kids receive. If the child doesn't want to wear his blazer in class, he gets a negative comment. If his buttons arent done, he receives a negative comment. Why dont we focus on the academic studies and not these petty little things
By Student - 01 Jun 2020, Rate: excellent
This school is very good. There are many negative comments here although, the way you will find the truth is to ask the top students, who worked hard, about their experiences at Amity college. The students who will give a fair and just opinion are the ones who put effort to be good and hardworking students.

The comments that are being made here are appalling. I was a student at Amity college for a long time and the school is amazing. I graduated a few years ago and have been looking at school reviews for MY future children and have come across this page. I am shocked at these comments. The teachers at Amity college are so invested in the students, they treat you as if you are their family. They will organise so many activities outside of school, just to give time and care to students. The teachers are next to perfect, i can hardly remember a moment where a teacher treated me wrong. All of the time i ever was in trouble it was my own doing and the teachers were giving me the correct advice and direction as to how to improve. Furthermore, the Turkish teachers are so innocent in all of this, and it is wrong to say that they choose favorites because they simply don't. Shame on anyone who puts down the staff at this school, it is so shameful to see the comments being made. This school is very good, the staff are amazing and so are the opportunities. What a shock to see privileged, blessed, first world, private school children and parents complaining. This school IS GOOD and i HIGHLY recommend it to any parent seeking to send their child to a respectable school, where they receive a quality education.

I would rather send my student to a public school then this crap. This is the worst school I’ve ever seen. All the teachers do is put negative COOLSIS comments and care about the uniform more than the child’s education. This school has nearly made one of my children suicide from all the neglect and hate the teachers give towards the students. So DONT send your children
or they will go through HELL

My child was a student at this school for over 10 years. 10 years of bullying, racism, teachers who were not able to bring out the best in students as the students couldn’t even understand them.
Co-ordinators, teachers and principal aware of all issues including the fact that the students cannot understand some of the teachers and the reply given, “your child needs to be more attentive in class”.
It’s the social behaviour of the school the school that makes it disgusting. Go through any of the public post and see how many non-Turk students have their pic taken with the Principal for achievements.
I am not one of those barking parents who complains and then does nothing. I pulled my child out last year and he is doing year 11 at another school this year.

In my opinion I think they should have a swimming pool because there are worse schools and they have a pool like UGC they are trigger trash but they still have a swimming pool so I think is amity college has a pool it would be perfect

I would recommend this school but it is better than Unity Grammar. All those cheesy parents and students rating bad,if you hate this school, then suck it up and leave the school and stop wining about this school

Let me just start of by saying who even made this school? Like they obviously need to see a doctor. The teachers at this school full get you in trouble for tapping them like what do I have germs. Canteen food is so expensive the small ass slush ids are for $2 and at maccas a big one is for $1 like hungry for money much. Also they changed the grading system just because they don’t want to give scholarships out to many students, this is a greedy broke ass school.

Would never recommend any parent to send their child to this school. Absolote discrimination if you are not a Turk, no chance of sucess. Extreme bullying which teachers and coordinators are aware of but goes unwarranted. Teachers are not professionally equipped to assist students. Either their accent is not understood by the students or they just dont have the knowledge or time to help the students. Students will be penalised for not doing homework but not not promoted to advance class based on good exam marks. The schhol punishes than rewards. My sons whole high school from tyear 7 -12 was ruined. A kid who was very smart ended up quite the same. He suffered bullying and discrimination everyday. And now there is no support for students who need help just before trials/Hsc exams. HSC Standard English Teacher abandoned the kids when they desparately need help. The substitute help is not adequate for the student needs. Students are left in dark with no help and the school is very calm and confortqble with it while students and parents are panicking. The fees paid are very high but what what the school provides is not even basic.
There is not even a vessel in the prayer room toilets for kids to use.
The school does not live up to what it promises. The biggest mistake I made for my child. For all parents reading, if you are not a Hizmet turk dont put your child through this pain and nightmare. Any public school will do better and you will save yiur money too.

This school made me suffer from anxiety. I cry every night. The teachers are too strict and dont care if you don’t understand. Assignments are confusing and really hard. Also they seemed more focused on suspending you if you have a piercing that isn’t on your earlobe and dying your hair black or brown. honestly I’m scared for what the future has for us because this isn’t good preparation.

Some comments are so childish. For example the one about teachers not having the qualifications. You need to register as a teacher before you work, so if they have no qualifications the government is to be blamed. The other funny one was about the student who was put in a room and forced to sign a paper to join the group, really dear you have quite the imagination. I am an ex employee who has left due to location.

Very strict, bad teachers, nothing to look forward to, they care more about ur uniform than ur grades, they have bag checks not to see if u have drugs but to see if u have the amity school bag. Overall I hate it and the majority will agree with me

Today i got in trouble because of MY HAIR. This was the first day of term 2 and got got in trouble for long hair. I was sick on the weekend before school opened so i couldn't get it cut. I told this to the cordinator AND principal but no, THEY had to win. The teachers are all imports and they love to torture us. Because of this school, one of my friends nearly commited suicide last year. he left this year. very shit school. For their sake, i beg of you not to send your kids here.

Good education, friendly teachers great environment just that some teachers might have trouble with English and the uniform policy is way too strict, there are uniform checks every day and the uniform is uncomfortable anyway. This is not just my opinion but most of all other students opinions. A good school to go to.

I am very touched by the dedication of the staff and teachers in this school. My daughter has changed completely after starting to Amity. She is a free soul, she never quite liked the school.. But now, she actually loves to go school and asks us to give permission for her to stay in the school for after school activities. I would never think of such a transformation. For us the sincerity of her class teacher made all the change. I heard similar stories from other parents. Thank you very much for your dedication!

For the last 5 years my children have been attending this school and it's a fantastic school especially in this region. Teachers are great and curriculum is well-tailered. Pastoral care programs also an opportunity for the parents who is after a moral development as well. Soccer club, chess club, Rugby club etc...give students fantastic opportunities as extra curricular programs. Love this school and recommend to everyone.

Bullied to the max. Terrible social strandards amongst students. Teachers always be turning blind eyes.
By Student - 23 May 2017, Rate: average
Maaany many people say the high school is horrible blah blah. It's not the social environment, or the bathrooms, I think it's more of the teacher -student bonding that makes it horrible. Like for instance, my science teacher does a happy face ,sad face which gets the students really annoyed, like if you call out the CORRECT answer she puts your name on the sad face, then if you get two crosses your referred to your coordinator , and there you need to find a different way to hint that your science teacher gets you really annoyed. And the uniform, ughhhhhhh, because it's term 2 , we need to wear winter. It's not that bad but the rules are crazy , like you can't rule up your sleeves, you have to have the right socks, leave your tie on all day and your skirt needs to be mid calf. And for school photo day, many new girls were so looking forward to leaving their hair out, or half it, but we can't do that, apparently it's not professional.

Moved my child from that school only because she was a much happier student in public school . She's doing much better now that I moved her . When I read the reviews before enrolling my daughter I thought to myself im sure the negative comments were written by some angry people for what ever reason . I didn't think much of the reviews which was the biggest mistake . They force your child to learn which is not how I want my daughter to learn . There is no point of getting good grades in areas you don't enjoy one bit .

Pros: great facilities, solid learning environment, access to various resources via incursions.
Cons: sure, there's coolsis, but you're not ever allowed to see assessments marked. Maybe a glimpse at parent-teacher interviews. The staff are able to lie & bully parents and students alike, and get away with it. The counsellor is useless. Bullying happens and the teachers pretend to do something about it. They don't. This is primary, unsure about high school as yet.

When parents or my kids that attend amity want to make a change or don't like somehting they complain to coordinators and teachers and they DO NOTHING. We have had entire classes complain about certain issues and the school doesn't do anything to help....seriously.

Many teachers are imports from foreign countries and you CANNOT understand anything they say OR they just can't teach properly. Heaps of maths and science teachers cannot teach at all. So you find students TEACHING THEMSELVES THE CONTENT because teachers don't explain properly or waste time in class on irrelevant content.
Also the school uniform policy is so overdone, they care about how your hair is tied more than your marks. All you hear is fix this, fix that, the teachers don't leave you alone. At amity, expect to be picked on about your appearance ALL THE TIME, it's extremely anoying you want to just be left alone. It's definitely the worst aspect about the school. The school is very sexist where boys get more things compared to girls- for example the boys get a field to play sport on during breaks whereas girls don't and aren't allowed to play sport in our area. Also girls get cooking classes and aren't allowed to do woodwork because because they need to be "feminine" and stick to cooking. OK THEN, NOT SEXIST AT ALL. Also many teachers and coordinators are just plain rude to you and if you stand up for yourself they just become more rude and don't give you a say whatsoever in situations unless you end up in the coordinators office. The teachers cannot handle it when they are wrong- they just can't handle it. Sometimes we are right and they refuse to admit or apologise for being wrong and rude asf. DONT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE because of the teacher's extremely arrogant attitude, the sexist policies and the fact that many teachers don't know how to teach since hey are imports from other countries - this shit all piles up on students and it's ridiculous. So many girls and guys MOVE schools because it's too much stress.
Overall Not really good quality and this school claims it isn't an Islamic school but only offers to teach Islam to the students so students of other religions have nothing to do during all these classes.
By Parent - 26 May 2016, Rate: bad
The internet is verrryyyy slow and why don't the teachers know any English. And weren't teachers meant to help students well where's the help. They can't even mark assignments they take over a month to give a mark but it's not even marked properly and the mark is awful. And they make our assignment due three days after we receive it, we do another assignment and hand it in but we still don't get the mark of the other assignment we handed in before it. DONT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE UNLESS YOU WANT THEM TO ENTER DEPRESSION. They burn you out before the HSC
By Employee - 07 Mar 2016, Rate: bad
I wouldn't send my kids here. Reports aren't even written by teachers, rather generated by a computer! Marks are purposefully moderated to make the school appear better than it is... Because no one wants to send their child to a school with poor academic ranking. The better the grades appear, the less suspensions the more students amity gets... More students equals more money... Think about it ! I suggest you request to know what qualifications both teachers and executives actually have... You might be shocked to learn your kid is not being taught by accredited or qualified staff... Interesting no?

Amity college is an excellent school which includes a variety of facilities and classes. The students of amity/sule are well behaved and are receiving outstanding and remarkable marks. I rate this school excellent as I believe, without a doubt, it will provide its students with their essential needs that will assist with them applying for their future goals as well as them becoming the role models for the generations to come
By Student - 26 Oct 2015, Rate: excellent
Aaliyah Raad UGC here again, I believe that amity college is doing what they possibly can in making sure that students are protected in every way, then again, many students find that disciplinary actions are not suitable in school, well they are. It is pretty obvious that without discipline most students won't grow up to be the role models that they need to be to the younger generation. My point is yes teachers also need to think about the discipline before putting it in place, but sometimes I guess students need it to become better people for the future. If you are possibly reading this, whether you are a teacher or students from Amity College please take what I am saying into consideration, if not than just remember that there are always other times where you will realise where you went wrong. Thank you

Affinity Intercultural Foundation is the interfaith wing of a Turkey-based religious congregation (or ?cemat?) linked to Turkish Islamic scholar Muhammad Fethullah Gulen. That cemat?s interests are represented in Australia by the Feza Foundation Limited, a company limited by guarantee and registered back in the mid-1990?s.
The Foundation runs two schools, including Sule (now known as amity) College in Sydney. These schools claim to be non-denominational, though are modelled on other Islamic schools run under the auspices of the Gulen-led cemat.
Controversy surrounds the funding of the schools which show links to terrorists organisations overseas.

Extreme religious views that support oppression and corruption.
Personally seen documents, activity and behaviour which is illegal. But money pays everyone off.
Teacher interaction with students is border line grooming. Some female staff call male students on their mobile late at night. Same students contact staff in inappropriate manners.
Shamed if you are Christian or religion other than Muslim. Bullied if you are gay. Not a school that teaches Australian values. Stay away.

I have worked at the school for six years. The students are very well behaved and disciplined. The management could be a bit opaque at times but they are very supportive with all requests. The other staff are great as well, many experienced and helpful teachers. Sometimes the school can be too organized in terms of curriculum which makes paperwork a little longer, but I suppose it's worth it in the long run.
Only reason for me to leave was location (so far to the Eastern suburbs) but considering how bad my current school can be, I think the travel might have been worth it.

This school is AMAZING. I love the teachers, they teach me so much and I have many good friends. There are also many welfare programs such as: soccer, chess, hiking, go karting and much more. This school is worth it. The re e are some teachers that get on my nerves. I used to hate science but now its my favorite subject because of Mrs Sushila Prasad. This school is by far the best school I've ever known.

I love this school! They have many activity groups (chess, soccer, hiking) and they are very fun. The teachers are funny, helpful, easy to understand, and the work given is worth doing. They have different teachers from different backgrounds and it is fun to know something different about them everyday. I love participating in the activity groups. The school even sends a lot of the groups to international competitions! The parents of the students are happy with the overall results and progress of the students. I totally recommend is school. If you find me repeating myself, then that means I can't come up with so many good things to say! This school is worth it.

This school and all that are part of the foundation need to be closed. Money driven institute. Bully tactics are a daily thing among students and staff. Issues of health and safety are completely ignored. No respect for other cultures, completely ignored rememberance day until staff member brought it up, resulting in a quick last minute put together 5min assembly where students were standing up in the quad. Students steal and damage property with no consequences. Teachers have had class rooms destroyed and students have their lockers broken into on a daily basis. Acts are malicious. Mentality is "do as I say, not as I do".
By Employee - 11 Apr 2015, Rate: bad
Poor teaching methods. Little support for students and staff , especially students who require literacy help. Poor behaviour management strategies. No implementation of current department legislations and guides. Unreasonable expectations for staff and students. Little to no professional development for staff meaning poor support for students. Not multicultural or culturally inclusive. Very much exclusive mentality, this impacts poorly on students once they graduate into the wider community. Would avoid working here and/or enrolling here. Public schooling is far better.

Some student's behavior is bad but other schools are worse if anything we should be grateful for being in this school. Seeing all these parent's comments is making me laugh. The schools social behaviour is disgusting, and I'm not referring to the students only. Because of the dominant Turkish community, not only were students isolated but they're scrutinized and tormented by teachers and students together. The small number in students within each year made it a smaller fish bowl than what high school already is. Teachers and students would communicate in Turkish constantly. My son picked up on the language just to figure out what they were saying during his first few years. Realising that teachers and students would bad mouth students in Turkish right to their faces. This is a terrible place to send anybody. Yes, they have amazing academic records and yes, they work hard on making sure the parent gets what they paid for. But they really make sure of it. Cameras at every single corner you turn, if you were caught walking passed the gym to the "girls side" of the school - official detention. 3 official detentions - suspension. Now not all teachers at Amity College are complete ignorant beings, some teachers would try to help with students who weren't coping with the schools environment, but they'd soon be led in to the principals office and spoken down to. My son attempted suicide twice because of teachers. Serdar Takimoglu, Cevdet Avcuogullari, Mustafa Kabak and especially Hasan Zugul have no compassion at all, so to be placed in an institution full of hormones and gossip and not do anything about the social behaviour except encourage it is disgusting. This school should just be shut down completely. Amina koyum hayvans.
