Prior to signing my child to Nuwarra Public I too was sceptible at the beginning as some negative reviews put me off. However I have to admit the teacher Mrs McCleod has gone beyond her requirements to assist all children with their learning. I have been astounded to see a huge difference with my sons knowledge over this past year KM class. The school Principal has been very supportive in assisting and advising in my child's development. Mr Corney what can I say I wish I had a school principal like him when growing up. Very enthusiastic and clearly demonstrates the school values through his hard word and dedication. His advice goes a long way, thank you Mr Corney it is a pleasure to have you. Nektaria. ( Joseph El Neny )

My 8 year old daughter is autistic and has been with this school since kindergarten. At first I was very worried about how she would do, she could barely talk, I actually considered homeschooling! But I'm glad I gave her a chance at a normal school because it has been nothing but positive for her. She improved so much that first year of school you wouldn't even know she was the same girl, and her first teacher, Mrs Gonzales went above and beyond to help her. Bullying is dealt with swiftly and seriously and I only wish my kids could stay at this school until year 12! The local high schools are not on the same level!

I am ethnic and I am not classed as white, we have found that the school is not bias, and bullies like at any school are not shoved under a rug. Yes end of last year and early this year I had heard also about a child being very badly bullied but that child I believe was suspended and then on repeat offence expelled. The childs parent that was bullied I also say have the law involved, you see when a child decides to kick and stomp on another on more than one occasion then I don't believe the teachers can actually impress upon that child doing the bullying to stop, I think that child needs further deterants such as the law. It coukd be that the child sees this type of bullying at home and takes it one step further, or the child dpes have serious social issues in which case the parents should have taken up further involvement in the underlying reasons and take positive actions.

I have found this school to be very nice, teachers are very active and go further than required when helping the children. Team spirit is alive and well, as is sharing and caring. Not sure which teachers the other comments were referring to but haven't come across any that are anything other than professional and highly experienced.

What a relief to find this school in the area. The children are very resilient and hard working, special ed children do not get ignored nor do the highly academic ones.P &C have done wonderfull things for this school, and the new relieving principle has done wonders.Lovely school.

Disgusting school! Teachers discriminate. Bullying is completely ignored! Thank goodness my children no longer go there.

We have been to other schools, including catholic, this is school by far is the best. a large percentage of children here are kids who are a little bit different, some with hearing, some with speech and some with learning disabilities. These kids are tough as nuts who have had to start life in a school system already disabled next to the children who are abled. These kids are accepting and tolerant, and cope the only way they know how. Discrimination unfortunately is alive and well everywhere in this big country and I have seen it the last 40 years, and in all of our schools, we do not have a school in Australia that hasn't had a person there discriminating against someone else. Its a smaller school, and the many of the teachers have been there for many years and are up to date with their teaching skills and have a lot of experience. No matter what school you put your child in you will always have an issue of how another child spoke to yours or a teacher didn't pull up someone who has taken something from someone else. These teachers here have a bigger job than you regular teaching jobs in a regular school has.We came from a private school where considering the amount of religion they thrust down your throuats they had a huge number of bias and judgemental children who bullied oneway or another and the school was not equipped to deal with kids who were odd. I say label all your things so when someone takes it you can prove its yours, Fairness does exist there or we would see a hearing impared child elected as school captain - so all can run in the race, and if your constant complaining doesn't get anything done about the bullies then call in the law as serious bullying can be stopped by the law. Fact you will hear 10 people complain about a bad experience before you hear 1 say anything good. Not all schools are good for the same child and if you have to change schools do so no matter how many times it takes or home school them.

Unmotivated teaching staff that should have retired long ago. No standards for behaviour. Rough students and rough play teachers turn blind eye to.

Horrible school. Bullying was a constant problem. Spoke to teachers and principle and was never tended to promptly. My child's teacher was of islander descent. And would always treat girls that were like her differently to the way she treated my daughter. One child of islander background stole my daughters wallet. When my girl told the teacher mrs McLeod she didn't care and allowed the other girl to have the wallet. It wasn't until I got envolved and reacted quite loudly that she gave the wallet back. Very biased and rude. Do not even think of this school for your precious children. Very poor in all aspects. Hanna l

This is an extremely bad school. Don't let the comments about it being a diverse and tolerant school fool you. My child was bullied constantly and not one time was anything done. I constantly spoke to the principal Diane oconnor, and she completely let my son down. Discrimination is alive and well in that school. Fairness is non existent. Be warned do not send your children to this school.
