School Reviews

The new principal is terrible and the school has gone downhill. One of the first things she did was scrap homework and SeeSaw. The new principal is only concerned with the rebuild and not the students' academic and social wellbeing. It seems like many of the experienced and engaging teachers have left or retired since she arrived.

Just a quick note to keep in mind the bias on here, it makes sense to take into account that if someone had a good opinion of the school they’re less likely to search out review websites and put their opinion on here than if someone had a bad experience.

The recent years of my year 6 education in GPS has nosedived with many incidents of bullying (not targeted at me), thieving and other inappropriate behavior. The recent principals also are not a competition to the previous ones. Though there were good memories in a place I've spent 7 yrs in.

I am giving an honest rating of the school.I joined in kindergarten and I am writing this on my last day before I leave the school.I am currently in year 6. Most children are kind and friendly and teachers too.But some exceptions are strict, rude and sexist teachers (not naming them). In yr6 kids usually become a little irresponsible and bullying does sometimes occur but overall the school is really good and I have made lifelong memories there.I'll always remember it!

This school isn't the best.
Honestly, the worst.
The teachers though, that's another level.
If we get faulted by accident (not everyone is perfect) the teacher will say "even the kids in kindy can behave better".
And it is so annoying.
The recent change of rules in Year 6 (i have a friend in Yr 6) is absolutely horrible.

This school does not function properly.
It's like a robot with out programming.
They have "teachers pets" and be very biased to them.
The recent change of principals is poor in effort.
They spent so much of our money from 'fundraisers' just to build cricket nets that we can't even fully play on.
They are gonna 'change' is not on teachers.
The teachers scold us for no reason (even if we flick a page).
In community language, you may think it is a nice place where you learn to speak, read, and write in their language but instead make us do projects that aren't related to language.
And the end of year 'showcase' is absolutely horrible.

I would like to highlight the following for every parent, student and principal:
1. Teachers can only see the students for every fault.
2. After one person says something the teachers don't listen to other students and give them white slips.
3. The school wastes money for the cricket nets even though they have been fully built since May 2021, but still the students are not allowed to play in them.
4. First the teachers annoy the students and then ask the students to show some manners.
5. Class 5W privately teaches about selective and 2/3 of the students in that class gets into selective.
6. Community language is in this school, which is absolute rubbish because they don't teach how to read, speak or write your cultural language, they just tell you to create projects and at the end of the year there are showcase's and they do all this because they get an increase in salary because no school has this.
7. The teachers tell work for students which the teachers can't do, but they tell the students to do that.
8. The education at this school is not worth it.
9. The students have no say at this school.
10. Students can only play the sport that teachers choose.
11. Teachers Miss Frasen, Miss Matharu, Miss May, Mr Maloni are very rude and biased.
12. A lot of the teachers have pets meaning that they never scold those students and always listen to what they say and sometimes if another student says something the teacher won't believe it.
13. Teachers don't take any action on bullying.
14. Every year the teachers create a extension class without proper framework.
15. The teachers don't take any action on using abusive words.
16. If the teachers don't want to come to school then they won't and then the students have different teachers until the students come. I think the school should count the teachers absences instead of the students. My son's teacher hasn't come for half a year and started making excuses just because she didn't want to come.

School doesn't even know how to communicate using seasaw. Very bad. I was told that all public schools in Australia are like that. That's probably why people work like mad and send their kids to private schools.
Administration: poor
Teachers: poor
Education standard: poor.

I would like to highlight following for every parents and principal: -
1. Some of the teachers are bias and unfair with students .
2. Feedback about students seems to me copy and paste .
3. Every year school create so called extension class without proper framework .
4. Teachers VIZ Baisari , May and Dorothy are very rude and bias .School should have mechanism to take feedback about teacher.
5. An incident where student topped the class in one of the competition where teacher told gurdian your son is not deserving.
6. Teacher promote their favorite irrespective of their performance .
7. School does not have plan and same level playing field for everyone .
8. In an incident where student has been promoted to so called extension class by teacher later on pushed back by other teacher .One can imagine the reality of school .
9. Teacher if they don't like student somehow they will find fault or example if call your son he does not respond in one call "Kids what do you expect in year 1 or 2/3)
10. Parents teach at home and private tuition so teacher contribution very nominal . I give very less credit to teachers for school ranking .

I went to this school. The teachers don't take action to bullying. They don't really care. Some students and teachers can be really nice. You make some good memories. The teachers don't care though.

Nepotism and bullying. The teacher's daughter and niece were enabled to bully and harass other children for years.
By Parent - 19 Nov 2021, Rate: bad
some of the teacher there were actually really good but some other teacher particularly one male teacher who teaches year 5 and year 6 used intimidation tactics and borderline bullied and humiliated students on a regular basis. he may a good teacher but I am surprised he still has his job considering the way he treats his students. My sister's kid was falsely accused of some actions and the teachers did not look into the situation properly and as result treated her unfairly throughout the year. This particular teacher I mentioned above made it his life mission to make her remianing school years a living hell. This is not the case for all students and some got away a lot of things that would not have gotten away with. Teachers really need to start look out better for signs of bullying and not just trying to jump to conclusions to save energy and time. This can be detrimental for the students mental health.overall it seems like while this good facilities and teacher they do not address the well being of the students to an acceptable degree. Parents I would advise to keep a close eye on your kids and make sure they arent being treated unfairly.

Administration and management is very poor. There's no one to answer the phone calls and it always goes on recording and there's no option to leave voice messages. School maintains a one way communication. They speak; you hear. That's all. Parents are treated like a flock of sheep.

It is too costly, there is over 1000 students so even people who live in the area can't get in and they keep on building schools so it takes over the little space of playground. AND THE TEACHERS DONT CARE ABOUT BULLYING and the school leaders are only picked from their popularity. They spend most money on sport equipment and the students dont get much of a say. I know Im saying the bad stuff but i cant help if i suffered it when i was in school

This school is good but the curriculum is too easy I think it have better education and not wasting all the money on sport equipment. The school most of the time complains about needing more money.

School is good and so teachers, but if they need to concentrate more on study activities than fund raising activities. School's academic performance obviously will be good as majority of kids are going to either tuition or preuni.?
