Terrible bullying, my daughter has post traumatic stress from attending! When we asked for help we were recommended bible study classes at lunchtime!

Very bad experience, stuck up community and teachers not down to earth. Very snobby with particular church groups and behind the facade school lacks substance and passionate teachers.

emmanuel college's discriminatory views are far from hidden, written into their employment contracts and codes of conduct for students. it is no surprise the college's culture follows suit.

I've been at Emmanuel since prep, now in SS. I do not recommend going here due to all the teachers and students. The teachers are so unrealistic, however there are a select few who actually understand us and are so lovely. The rest of the teachers, however, act like they care about us even though its painfully obvious they are only there for the money. The students, on the other hand, are either extremely rude or extremely fake. You may find some real, nice students but not often. I wouldn't recommend if your kid is looking for some good people to hang around and learn with. Also, the uniform prices are way too high and you will end up spending so much just to make your child look 'good'. The formal uniforms are extremely hot in summer, and often you spot many students sweating in the warmer weather. But in winter, its not the best either. The jumpers and blazers are quite uncomfortable, however the blazers look very formal, just aren't suitable for the school. The campus at this school may seem beautiful, but has so many problems with it. Winter at Emmanuel is extremely freezing. The school provides no place to escape the cold and the winds, while expecting us to last 45mins in these conditions. The teachers are treated so much higher and are given so many privileges. This school also has major problems with bullying, however they do try to address it, they still don't do anything to stop it. The work and exams are also extremely advanced and unnecessary. I have friends who go to other school and they comment about how their work is so much easier (they are in the same grade as me). So, I do not recommend this school AT ALL due to all I have stated in this review. I also recommend checking out more reviews on this school. Also, the students reviews are much more reliable as they provide an insight into the school whereas the parents like to comment on how they think the school is like; all 'pretty' and 'nice'. :)

This school was shocking. I attended Emmanuel for many years and endured bullying the entire time I was there. It wasn’t until I was in my final year there that they did something about it but it was 12 years too late. They shove religious beliefs down your throat. They only care about the overly Christian students and the sporty ones. Anyone else may as well be invisible. The students are all bullies and so are the teachers. I wish I had never gone to this school and I will not be sending my children there.

I love this school. It provides me with the help and support I need. If you are looking to go to this school it is a great idea. Students and staff are awesome.

Please don't send your kids to this school. This is a very corrupt school that would throw kids under a bus if it saved their reputation. There are a few good teachers here and there but most are dishonest, rude and treat students like they are worthless. This school is nothing like it seems.

I came to the school thinking it would have respectful students that were chosen well, seeing as you had to go through an interview and selection process, yet there are students who behave like they should be rotting in a public school. Emmanuel is not worth the money - it has some good opportunities, yes, but the other 'opportunities' are forced labor and work whether the student is interested or not. It forces students, teachers and parents to do things it shouldn't, takes away any will or student opinion and replaces it with their own twisted versions they are too high on money and their ego to even consider anyone else's opinion unless they are people who suck up to them. The school lies. A lot. It makes up so much stuff and over-exaggerates itself. Theres corruption and bullying in the school, yet it tries to say there isn't. Only a few teachers in the school are real - all the others put on some facade which doesn't help students. Only some can admit and talk freely of true feelings/thoughts/opinions and allow it. Not sugarcoat the world and act like everyone in the school is going to like each other. A bad school because it thinks and acts too highly of itself, setting unreal expectations and forcing students into environments they don't want to be in. This school is not what it says it is. Don't send your kids here.

We are not a Christian family, but our children enjoy the safe and rigorous learning environment the school provides. In particular, we like the emphasis on respectful behaviour. It's a 'good fit' for our family.

Not worth the money. Local public schools offer better environments where my children are performing much better on all levels. People need to break the idea that by "paying money it must be better". Open your eyes.

The school is great. For those who are having problems with being Christian my advice: do not go to a Christian college. Upon admission it is clearly stated that the college shares and supports Christian values which is great.
There are many other school around - so what's the point to go to a Christian one and then complaint and blame them in being odd?
If you want freedom (by the way: what is freedom for 10-12-16 years old??) go to a public school where no one cares if you drink alcohol or smoke straight after the school. I don't want such "freedom" for my child. I want to be sure that my child is observed and safe while at the school.
Their academic results are also very good. The school is great.

If you are looking for a school do not go to this one. You can expect no formal after party or anything similar, their Christian values being referred to at every possible instance and lastly an extremely poor student life. They are really odd. Students have next to no freedom. To put you in perspective ? you cannot become school captain/school leader unless you are a Christian. Really backward thinking school.

An extremely religious school. Too much so. Absolutely ridiculous. If you are not religious do not go there! They claim that they are ?multi-denominational? on their website. This is complete rubbish, they jam Christian and religious values down everyone?s throats whenever they get the chance. Absolutely unbelievable. The school?s student life is absolutely pathetic. If you are a student looking to go to this school take my advice and don?t.

As a past student, I am disappointed with the education I received at Emmanuel College. While the school excels academically, there is a significant and pervasive bullying problem. Additionally, I found that staff showed clear bias, favouring students from families who attended 'popular' Churches associated with the school community as well as students of other staff members, in the form of leadership positions and academic opportunities.

Emmanuel is a very great school and very religious. It has good facilities and is quite strict. Mainly the kids are nice but there are some troublemakers. I highly reccomend emmanuel college as would almost all of its students and parents.
I'm , rate this school
