the school morale is pretty terrible, and although there’s a few exceptions a lot of the staff can be kinda rude and they can pressure you into doing things you don’t want to. i understand they try to promote the opposite with resources to mental health, but it doesn’t do much. the fees of the school are overly expensive despite the condition of the school.

You should know that Frederick Irwin school values it's ATAR ranking results above your child's education and future. They will actively exclude them from courses and prevent their enrolment if they don't like them or think they might be at risk of bringing the ranking down. They rank your scores and kids have to fight for positions in the top classes (they only classes they would let choose certain subjects) and put active blocks in the way of the progress of ones they decided were not performing sufficiently or they didn't like.
Many teachers scream at the kids and the rules are extremely strict. We were punished harshly and berated for minor things (for example being literally 2 minutes late to class due to circumstances beyond our control or book supplier running out of stock at beginning of year and child getting detention for having no textbook despite parent explaination).
They put a lot of pressure on us to try to increase the school profile. The work was boring and we usually just worked on questions from a textbook or a worksheet.
Despite the high cost of the fees, many classrooms don't have air-conditioning and students don't always have the equipment needed because the school don't provide it (e.g sharing science equipment).
Lots of kids leave the school

Don’t send your child here if they have special needs, they don’t want them.

my children love the school. They started this year and have already made plenty of friends and love their teachers. Definitely worth the wait!
