School Reviews

Areas of the school stink from a lack of adequate sewerage management. The major faculties (i.e. English, Mathematics) are lacklustre with only a handful of teachers able to teach properly. Even though this school is objectively utter garbage, it is still going to be dominated by an Asian presence as one would expect from a partially selective academic school, and also from the ethnic distribution living around the school in the catchment area. The principal is some fat dog that arrives late, leaves early and seems to have taken a liking to purchasing and flaunting sports cars she can barely get into. Like any other school, you get the service that corresponds to your worth. If you are in the top class, you get the best teachers, and vice versa, if you are a dropkick you will be treated like a dropkick by being placed with others that are like-minded. Naturally bad at studying, and so one just didn't have a choice but be placed in a bad class? That doesn't exist. Put effort in your own time, outside of school and move up the classes or transfer to a better school. If you really want to perform well you would be putting much more time outside of school to get ahead or solidify your knowledge. (If you didn't already know) If you can't match somebody else with two times as much effort, then triple that, quadruple that, and increase your efforts until you can match if not surpass them. Education is sub-par but it's what you'd expect for a school ranked in the 100's. If you wanted a better education one would have tried harder after realising they didn't put enough effort into selective, or even tried selective in the first place. Don't ask the school to better, ask yourself to be better.
Too long? Here are main points:
- Lots of asians around the catchment area, or just lots of asians that are smart so there is gonna be lots of asians in the school
- Like every other school, the majority of education occurs at home, so stop trying to shift the blame when you didn't try for selective or did bad in selective

This is an excellent school. It has five sections - two sections are for selective, two sections for kids from neighborhood and one for the "Gifted and Talented" kids from the neighborhood. If your kid does perform well, he/she will get promoted to Gifted & Talented section - which is at par with the selective section. If you are not a permanent resident of Australia, a Gifted & Talented section is closest you can get to the selective section.
No bullying at all, a lot of activities all year round, functional clubs.High Naplan score is a testimony to the good work they are doing.

my child got a very high ATAR score from this school. She says that the teachers were very helpful throughout year 11 and 12 and that they were willing to spend extra time with their students during their study periods. Parramatta high school is slowly becoming one the higher achieving schools. I would highly recommend this school to anyone.

This school is the best high school that you could possibly go to. For people without byod there are plenty of laptops all around the school for students to use (which is probably why half my class isn't bothered to buy a laptop). The teachers and students are amazing. You always know everyone in your grade and can legit just start a random conversation with anyone. Some teachers are very pushy, and so the class average for GAT and selective is usually very high (idk about the rest of mainstream tho..) The teachers who take year 11 and 12 classes are very dedicated and sometimes (towards the end of the year) take time of class just to help them. Overall I think this is the best possible school you could send your kid to. If your kid is dedicated they would usually be able to find competition which in turn raises their marks.

Umm.. ms splatt does not have a fireplace but yea i guess it tru- she dont spend money wisely- but the teachers are great and really nice. Students ussually label teachers as bad when they oush us to do better.. the so called "horrible" teachers are ussually the best and most dedicated teachers you could find (except perhaps ms rozario).
The students are really nice too. I've never heard of a single bullying incident in all my time in parra high and have never gotten into a single argument with anyone. It's the best school you could ever go to if you a serious about life after school.

The school is on an upward trajectory, and the 2021/22 cohort will raise the ranking massively.

this school likes to think that they care about the students and their mental health but in reality they have no idea what they're talking about. for all the assignments and assessments that I have passed, I mostly guessed the answers or had to teach myself or get other students to teach me how to do stuff as the teachers themselves can do their job. a lot of the teachers have favourites and if you're not one of them you're stuffed. both students and teachers are quite judgemental. the school offers very little to the students that cannot afford to bring their own devices as the laptops and computers rarely work and if they do, they are extremely slow. in my English class, I'm the only student who can't bring their own laptop so my teacher doesn't even bother trying to make sure I can access the work and he just assumes that I understand everything since I am part of the "smart" class of standard English. there are a few students and teachers who are kind and understanding towards the students but it's only a handful. this school also doesn't offer a lot of activities or elective classes for students to do as this school is mostly science, math and English based. if those subjects aren't your forte then you're screwed. this school expects you to follow certain criteria and once you hit year 12 you need to be creative and have a mind of your own even though you have been programmed to just answer questions, copy things down and listen to a bunch of information (that you're probably not gonna understand or fully take in) instead of having class discussions. basically this school focuses on the already smart and rich kids, and ignores and punishes the other disadvantaged students.

I love this school Soo much. But that doesn't mean this school is perfect, there is some places where this school is really bad like the principal is spending more money on gardens and sitting benches but honestly that is not important in front of how the classes look. Bad paintings everywhere in the wall that was not cleared or the students who done that were not punished, tables and chairs are very old, computers are so slow and some don't work. But otherwise this school is very good. Like they have different fun activities always support social issues, care about students future and mainly there is no best teacher in the world like we have. I like to study in this school until I finish year 12.

I have moved out of this school but I wish I could come back to this school. I like the way they teach and if you are in the higher classes it is a really good school. other schools don't have activities and clubs that this school does. my current school doesn't have activities that this school did

By Student - 27 May 2019, Rate: bad
the teachers are downright bad, some of them are ok, like the english faculty is ok, but honestly the teachers are just crap. If you end up in this school in years 11 and 12 your gonna have to teach yourself. People that do well in this school will tell you that they taught themselves. the teachers dont even know what theyre doing
By Alumnus - 06 Feb 2019, Rate: average
Listen, it's not a high ranking school, the teachers are okay and the school needs to get its priorities straight when it comes to where to spend the budget. But ultimately I think it comes down to how you study. I got a 99.65 ATAR from this school and still only came second in my grade at this school. Some kids just tend to do better. And yes, most of the high achievers are Asian and the majority of the kids from this school are Indian (like me) and I don't see anything wrong with that. Quite frankly it's the Middle Eastern and Muslim community that causes most of the problems at this school. It's honestly sad though that the school holds 'formal' assemblies with a grand piano and high tech lighting equipment when classrooms are falling apart.

as a yr 9 student, i can confidently confirm the school's facilities bad, the principal's are bad and the students are even worse. but if youre looking for a fun time and a lot of memorable memories, just come to parra and u wont regret it

The students are rowdy enough to bring about a bad reputation to the school.Pretty disgusting school to be honest. This school needs to improve a lot in facility and behavior of students as well as improve the staff members of the school.

its alright. its getting better compared to what it was. now days there are less fights and blood.yeah its just alright and could continue improving. however the teaching is EXCELLENT just a FEW students who drag down the grade average. but if your in GAT and selective its pretty good. consequently being in a FULLY selective school has a better advantage in HSC because ALL students perform well.

As a student who hardly studies, my marks are higher than the average. Some teachers are bad but students classify 'bad' as strict which obviously they don't like. The teachers do their job efficiently, as they must, due to the fact that the school is partially selective. It is a great school that has great values and works hard to get students to their preffered goal.

this school is physically unattractive, the principle cares only for herself. She has not yet renovated any of the classrooms, but selfishly had a FIREPLACE put in her own office and had the front office done up nicely. When us student have to put up with disgusting, stinky rooms that are falling apart. There are barely any Anglo/Fully Australian students and that has caused major social problems for me. In conclusion, parramatta high school has ruined my life, I don't not suggest it to anyone. Disgustingly old, puke-worthy high school. It's a hole.
I'm , rate this school
