Mr Duggan does not teach properly at all

Some teachers don't even teach the students stuff. One teacher leaves the classroom in the middle of the class.

I graduated in 2021. My experiences in this school were HORRIBLE. The administration and people in power are utter pieces of shit. They'll exploit mentally vulnerable students for their own advantage, and when students come to ask for help, they'll ignore them.
In 2020, this one boy took pictures of many girls' private parts. He got off scot-free, in fact, the people in power said they would expel anyone that stopped being friends with the boy. They refused to move girls away from him, and the admin enthusiastically enforced this commandment.
One of my friends was abused by a fellow student, in the same year, while they were in stage 4. The school did nothing. Their abuser pursued them until year 12, even out of school, guilt-tripping them to continue being abused. Each time, the school let their abuser off the hook.
The admin also picks on vulnerable students. One of my friends was kicked out by their parents, and they complied with the school's dress code to the best of the ability a homeless person can. The admin changed the school's dress code when they walked into the school, and used this new dress code, which they made up on the spot, to punish them.
I was bullied twice during my time in this school. The first time, the school did nothing, and I had to resolve the issue without getting the school involved. The second time, it was too big for me to solve, my bullies even took picures of me without my consent and uploaded them onto sites like Instagram. When I provided proof of this, the school did nothing, and repeatedly dismissed my requests.
The counsellors're great people, and I love them. I hugged both of them on the graduation day. Unfortunately, they have no power. Ordinary teachers too, have no power, so they can't do anything to help victims. There're both good and bad teachers. One ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC teacher is Mrs. Jodi Johnson, I LOVE HER!!!! She's the best. On the bad side, one of the teachers treated me like an infant because of a disability I have. There're strict teachers too, one of whch, I think is a good teacher, because he genuinely cares for his students, and is willing to adjust if the student is undergoing some trouble. The other I'm going to mention, is only strict, she has no good qualities other than that she is smart, she is widely hated by the students. Another bad teacher was one that repeatedly violated the boundaries of a student even when the student stated their boundaries to the teacher. This teacher teaches woodwork.
The students're a mixed bag. This school's catchment area is Cherrybrook, which is a suburb, and hence pretty well-off. Hence you can expect a lot of arseholes among the children, especially boys, and especially in stage 4,, however there were a lot of good people, mainly girls, in my batch.

I would give this school a zero if I could have.
Terrible school with terrible teachers (not all, but the majority), particularly in the visual arts, math, and science departments. The toilets are horrendous and need a lot of work. Do not recommend this school if you want your child to flourish and excel. They also rarely provide you with any support and resources that will enable you to succeed. You are better off sending your child to a private school or a different public school. Also, their ranking has progressively declined throughout the years, reflecting on the school itself and its teachers. Furthermore, some teachers are disrespectful and purposefully neglect children, despite preaching about being compassionate and wanting the best for all children. Some teachers don't even bother to show up, and some teachers never teach! Their reputation and success are a reflection of both the industrious students and their parents, not the school or its staff.

this school was horrendous. The teachers don't care about anyone who isn't smart. Our mental health is not on their list of concerns whatsoever. This school does not know how to organise their assessments and tests and does not accomplish anything other than stressing out their students. The teachers don't actually know how to teach which only leads to bad marks which they blame the students for even though its their own fault.

Lot's of abuse of power in the staff administrative. Takes advantage of students who are quiet and helpless, and abuses them with psychological manipulation and trauma. If your child has any mental illnesses, they will not be taken seriously at this school, go to another school, this one is not worth it.

Decent school, in such a large cohort there's bound to be a select few high achievers. A LOT of students have discussed issues concerning Mrs. Gibbs.

It's an okay school and I have been scrolling down through the comments and relating to a lot of them. As you can see, I've given this a 'average'. I hope this review helps the school fix its mistakes and advise the admin staff to be less impolite. Majority of the staff is excellent but there are a few odd teachers here and there, not naming names, but I could name several!

Horrible teachers who cannot teach properly. The reason the student have such good results are due to fact that the students have tutoring done every single subject they have. There are barely any good teachers who can teach properly and help the students understand the content of the syllabus.

I’m currently in year 8 at CTHS and i’m not quite sure what these other people are talking about. The school is great especially when you don’t have money to be put in a private school. Great education, teachers are nice and well prepared, kids are taken care of, student are nice, great infrastructure. Best public high school. I’m not the book kinda person or school kinda person, but at the end of the day i always have a good day after school.

I'm a student at this school in year 8 and I have learned nothing. No one really wants to learn and people only come to this this school for year 11 and 12 where they actually seriously teach. Any year below year 11 or maybe year 10, you are not going to get taught seriously but that just depends on what class you are in.

I am parent of a child starting from next year and we are considering this school to enroll . Could anyone please give some personal feedback about the school.

The other day I walked over to greenway oval and I encountered a boy from CTHS. He was an indian kid who was trying to be cool and he rode his scooter near and around me and played his rap song loudly on his phone. Further into the oval, there were about 20 more kids from CTHS and they all seemed rude and they were swearing every 5 seconds and played music very loudly. Therefore if CTHS was actually good, it would have educated them to be GOOD! My message to CTHS is

I use to work here from 2016 to mid 2017 and I'm glad I don't work here anymore. The students are very rude as well as the staff. I went to see my colleagues at the front office and they were saying things like "oh, sorry I can't talk, I'm too busy" and were acting rude. I go to mark some homework in the library but it is always so noisy. I asked the librarian, Mrs Sorensen why it is always so noisy and she didn't answer back. I was on duty on the playgrounds and the students were absolutely rude and abusive. Parents, do not enroll your child at this school.

If you have the money, please take your child to a good private school. Your child is almost invisible at this school and students are rude because the school does not have any rules on behaviour and respect.

It seems like the school have not educated their students properly. I thought that my year was bad since there were quite a lot of bullies (although it does not seem so obvious) and irresponsible staffs. However, nowadays things have gotten worse. The other day, I encountered a CTHS boy, riding his scooter near Cherrybrook community centre, who was trying to block my way while I was driving. The more I beeped at him, the merrier he is. If it had been someone else, perhaps this boy would have been hit and be badly injured or died. Furthermore, the staffs are crap, particularly the admins. The school needs to educate both their students and staffs with manners! Knowledge is important but manners is just as important. I would not enrol my kids here if I was a parent.

This school and its staff are the worst crap ever, thay are rude, arrogant, out of touch and don't give a shit about students... I really have a hard time understanding why this school is so popular, can't imagine other public schools if this one is one of the top ones.
By Parent - 09 May 2016, Rate: excellent
I would recommend this school as this school is possibly and furthermost best public school in NSW in my opinion. However there would not be a best public school as it is "public" to anyone to enroll

I don't like this school. Private ones are better

I am a teacher at the highschool and I personally feel that discrimination is a regular occurrence in this school. It is a small school with over 1 thousand people. This makes it very hard to move from place to place.
By Student - 06 Feb 2016, Rate: excellent
I personally find this school to be excellent as there are less cases of bullying compared to other schools in Sydney. The teaching body and administrative body are also very well trained and can cope with people with varying disabilities (both physically and mentally). The school facilities are excellent and the school runs a variety of clubs and initiatives targeted to boost the grades of students or to get students to socialise more. The downside however, is the school's classrooms are lacking in air conditioning.

Over crowded and bullying is prevaelnt. Not sure if these kids can be controlled. But school has excellent teachers and great infrastructure. Some of the kisd dont seem to understand multiculturalism and want to go back to the 60s.

I don't agree with the previous parent. There are bullies at school and is not so perfect.
