Ok School, very academic, their music program started off good when my daughter started but by the time my son went through it was ordinary. Bullying a problem which the school is aware of but seem reluctant to fix in case they upset anyone.

overall, i think that this is an amazing school and am proud to be a student here but i feel as it there needs to be more support for the students from teachers. I feel as if the teachers should be more understandings towards the students regarding stress etc.
I feel like i cannot open up about things here or like i don't fit it.
In saying that, it is a good school but there are things they need to change to ensure that the students are not feeling like they are under this immense pressure to be perfect and otherwise there is nothing for them.

The staff is very supportive and the students are welcoming. The entire community is warm and friendly. Returning to school after the holidays feels like coming home.

Academically, the school provides suitable resources and fantastic teachers. There is a good range of subjects and facilities. The IB program is in every part of the curriculum. My language B is French, and I find that the French program is excellent. I have heard that the drama and film program is quite good but I've never tried it.

Extra curricular groups and societies are good for socialising with other students. Many sports like football and waterpolo are catered for as well as indoor pursuits such as debating and tournament of minds.

The only criticisms I have for Mercedes College is how they presume everyone is Catholic. And how homophobic language from students isn't reprimanded but swearing is, which I find very frustrating. But I think that MC is non confrontational and the harassment policy is very clear and useful. MC is pretty diverse but conservative, and I feel safe there.
I'm , rate this school
