You get what you pay for!
if your not happy there is Westbourne on Sayers road!
Children in Truganina also fall into the catchment for St James on Derrimut Road.
Its funny how parents happy to allow the taxpayer to foot the bill for there children's education like to then complain.

my child goes to this school and it needs a change either the method of teaching or replace the teachers. my child often tells me stories of the teachers sitting & playing with their phones while all the students are on their IPAD's. in my opinion there needs to be more hands on in-terms of writing skills etc. and not just relying solely on technology (using apps to trace and write letters sentences etc.)

Truganina South Primary School was okay at the start but as time progressed, it changed and there were open classrooms and yeah....................:) Most of the students in our class didn't know division and it's was so noisy because the communities were mixed grades. I was lucky cause I had tutoring so I went to the top of the school reallllllly quickly. GET TUTORING

Truganina South Primary School is very unorganized.Open plan learning with more than 100 students in one class room ?

I remember going to this school when it was first opened. We used small laptops that functioned normally but they could've got something better. At the time this school was first opened, almost every student had games like minecraft, etc. It was so weird how Grade 3-6 were in the same class a few years later. It was like 100 students in one class which was surprisingly working well. Although learning was terrible... They could've afforded better education instead of rubbish. Personally, this school is terrible but if you don't have money, then go to this school. At least you can make memories here.

I wish I can take my two kids to different school. Open plan learning is wrong, 100 students in one class room. I almost had heart attack when I heard that yesterday. They use Ipads a lot, where is pen and paper gone. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

To the parent who found half a day to write an essay about all the wrong things that occur at TSPS on Jan 1;
Simply take your daughter out! You look incredibly stupid to mention all those things & then keep her there. Seriously, if it was that bad & yet you do nothing about it, then you are doing a complete disservice to your child. The thing is, it's not that bad!!! To use an excuse like, "I don't won't her to leave her friends", please, kids adapt in no time these days. It sounds like you teach her everything anyways, teach her some resilience when you move her???
It just a shame people continue to make negative comments about things in life. Move on or just keep quiet!
My kids have had an amazing experience at the school & I will continue to support them as that's what life is about & sets the right example for my kids.

By Parent - 28 Dec 2015, Rate: average
My 2 kids go to this school as there is no choice left because of one school in this zone. I would like to address 2 issues with this school and hope the principal/management would read and do some thing for the future years.
Issue 1: What we are experiencing in this school is the IPAD, this is where the kids are getting spoiled. Many of my friends kids go to this school and every single parent say the same thing. What's getting from the IPAD is so little compare to the education.
To be a better school/management, I would suggest to get rid of the IPAD altogether.
Issue 2:
The second major thing is the homework, we noticed that there is no home work for kids. They learn the concepts at school and when do they practice and how do they practise without the home work. This is the basic thing that the principal and the management should think of.
My little one who is in prep and she didn't had any tasks at all in the last term.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the Oct 8th ratings left on this website. Well, I attempted to read it as both the grammar & punctuation was awful. Maybe it's not the school that is the issue? Maybe the apple does not fall far from the tree? It's sad that people feel the need to spend time negatively putting down people or organisations that work incredibly hard to give every student a rewarding experience at school. Life is too short to focus on perceived negatives. I can only hope your future is a bright one!
In regards to TSPS, from what I hear numbers are booming, the school is very much community focussed & there is a great vibe coming from within those school grounds.
When it comes down to it, there is always a very, very, very tiny part of a very large environment that are not content with things. I'm glad to hear you have moved on & again wish you the best for the future. Hopefully you give the next choice of school a chance?

Truganina South Primary is an exceptional school as there are a lot of multiculturalism and diversity throughout the whole school.
There are many teachers and large learning spaces for students to interact and study with other students and teachers. The school provides many excursions and events every year, this helps students of the school visually relate to the subjects and topics they've learnt at TSPS.
The reason why 'some' students are lacking education at this school is because they are not absorbing or focusing on the work that is being presented to them by the teachers.
Furthermore, there are about 3-4 teachers in each class - at TSPS, it's called a community. The teachers within a community has to teach the levels of learning comfortable to the students meaning not all 4 teachers teach the same thing to a 5/6 class, some students may learn harder things than other and vice versa.
Truganina South may not be such a large school with a lot of people but it has high standards in education.
"It's about Quality, not Quantity."

TRUGANINA SOUTH PRIMARY SCHOOL NEEDS TO BE RE-STAFFED ASAP AND THE PRINCIPAL SACKED and it may have half a chance. Any good Reviews on this page are being left by staff NOT parents. If this school was re-staffed and managed properly the school may have half a chance. The way kids are taught here also needs to change, kids face stuck in an iPad all day is not good for them and studies have proven this is NOT an effective way of teaching. Moved out of the area after a nightmare experience with TRUGANINA PRIMARY SCHOOL for my kids as there are NO other schools in the area!!!!!!!!

Truganina South Primary School is Horrible it seems staff are leaving reviews here. A lot of parents are taking there kids out of this school. The Principal is one big fake and the teachers are mean to the kids. It's a portable city mess portable classes just plonked where ever. The worst part there are NO other schools in the area only Private lot of parents home schooling or getting out of the area it is not family friendly NO services if you have children and what little there is are full. Avoid Truganina South Primary School and the area if you have kids.

Mutual respect is built and developed through trust, well being and reciprocal good manners not by calling adults by their surname. It's a token of trust that children, parents and staff all call each other by their first names not the opposite.

Don't listen to these negative reviews
These people can't even spell
What would they know about education?
My kids love this school.
Great teachers
Great kids
Great parents
How about we help our kids by being supportive? Otherwise they ll end up hating school and won't learn!
Talk to the staff face to face

I find it quite amusing reading these posts where other parents spend time berating TSPS & on top of that u begin mentioning that you are trying to link pages like this to their website. Get a life!!! Seriously, if ya don't like the way they run their school....move on! Life's too short to be negative! Every school has a small minority of parents who spend their time attempting to bring a school down by attempting to identify small & insignificant faults! Grow up you sad sack & have the decency to approach them face to face to sort out concerns you may have. In life so many people look for all the negative things, well I would like to change that trend & say thank you to all members of TSPS for all the hours you put in week to week. You spend time investing in all of my children's futures & I am grateful for that.

I tried to link this site to the TSPS facebook page yet all my posts were instantly deleted (and on a Sunday!)
Why is it we can't share our honest opinions on facebook? It's a public forum, it's a public school, and I'm a member of the public.
Won't be long before a Truganina South Primary School Parent Feedback group is started where there's no teacher censorship going on with our posts.

For all those saying they're happy with the teachers and the education they're providing, do some research. TSPS is below average (in some cases WELL below average) in every subject apart from spelling. The statistics used to determine this are based on factual evidence stemming from how all of your children have performed. Google will lead you to all those disappointing stats for you to see for yourself. Just because your child can read better than the one sitting next to them doesn't mean one is smart and the other isn't, they're both more than likely below average! But boy, I bet they'd be better than any kids from a different school at scamming money!

I agree with the last couple of comments. My children started in 2011 & this school has been so supportive of my children's needs from day one. I love the multi age set up as it allows for my child's needs to be targeted effectively within ability matched groupings. The staff have always been approachable & always communicate in an appropriate manner.
I find it amusing that the person who left the comment on March 15th, cannot spell or write proper English them self. What a joke!!! You comment on how your child cannot read or write properly....after trying to read what you wrote I now understand why they struggle!!!
I get defensive when people try to blame schools for their child's struggles. Wake up to yourself, it sounds like your parenting skills need a tune up.
Staff at TSPS, keep up the great work. It's nice to know my child's education is in good hands & I commend all the effort you put in on a daily basis.
Finally to the principal staff, remember that 95% of families here love how you run this school. You have started this school from scratch & I can't wait to see what's in store for the future.

Usually people who write like this need to reflect on their own parenting. Obviously the issues are with you and your child as my children have been here since the beginning and they love it. The staff are caring and compassionate.
What deluded world do you live in... No pencils!!!! Please- wake up you ignorant individual!
People like you leaving is the best thing that can happen to this great school.
When your child fails at her/his new school perhaps then you will look at your parenting and family!!

I have a child that goes to Truganina South Primary School and am relieved (although not for my childs sake) that there are other parents that have felt similar frustrations as both me child and me.
Firstly; Yes, what is up with calling each teacher by their first name? Then the grades 1-3 and 4-6 being in the same classes all together is absurd! There is a big difference in ages and the children are all taught together and expected to understand and comprehend the same thing. There is never any homework and if there is, it's very basic, such as reading or revision, not that it's checked up on. If their laptop goes flat during the day, ah well to bad as there is no chargers or even a charging station available for the children so they just sit in class doing nothing. Not even are they given a pencil or a pen and paper to write on. The kids never seem to have to do any sort of actual 'learning'. All my child seems to know now is different programs on the computer and my child has lost alot of interest in learning since going there.
It's not just the spark that has gone from my child but the confidence too. With attempting new or completing tasks proving too difficult and frustrating that they are just gave up on, never to enquire even about asking for help. It really upsets me to see my child like this. No longer do I call to come inside for dinner because all the kids in the street are out playing, my child doesn't want to take an interest in anything that not of my childs own forte. All revolves around sitting on the computer and playing, online is possible...with their friends!!!
Then there is Mandy, the principal. WOW! Straight up unproffessional. Does not care at all for her students welfare! She really blew me away with her lack of empathy and cunning tactics! Yes, I too have had a crowd of teachers, WHO SHOULD STICK TO TEACHING, act all intimidating. The Vice Principal as well as the Principal should be sacked. Those two women have caused much angst for my child and me. I have been victim of their tactics and the defamation I have suffered as a result was told to legal proffessionals who described the schools actions on me as 'disgusting.' I am seriously appalled, there is no excuse for the staff of a primary school to recommend, persuade or coax a child into talking about things that are personal, or pass judgement on somebody of whom they've never met. Primary School Staff are there to support and teach their students. Mentor and encourage their strengths. Be a safe haven where their personal feelings aren't shown to parents or students. They must act nuetral and follow correct procedures at all times.
I am also writing to the Dep of Education and to my local member as well, good on the person who commented previously with that suggestion. I am outraged out the pathetic, ridiculous and petty way in which (certain, not all) the staff allow Truganina South Primary School to be run. It needs to be addressed and honestly, nationwide on a current affairs program is exactly what it just may need. Or just what the Principal and her loyal pack of wolverines may need!!!
Oh, and if your going to get your 'students' to leave messages about their school saying how great it is and how much they Love going to Trug South, get them to learn how to spell! It is fairly obvious when 'children' are writing things on the internet. 1)It's online so they try very hard to spell correctly
2) What child in primary school writes on a forum and does not leave their name or class their in or talk about their favourite teacher, or defend any slander? As children do tend to take things quite literally. They can get very upset when witnessing slander.
Oh and 3) What child, even if they do love their school, is going to go and write ON THE INTERNET ABOUT HOW MUCH THEY LOVE THEIR SCHOOL??? And judging by the 'students' comments, proves my point completly that this school needs an overhaul desperatly. Every Comment had incorrect spelling and punctuation! Time to put down those computers and get pen and paper out, start teaching those children how to spell and where to put full stops and etc. Rant Over. My child and I will be glad to leave TSPS behind, as I see alot of you have also. Follow your heart and listen to what's in your head But always trust your gut instinct, your gut is always right!!!

I have to agree with the above comments... I pads ipads ipads that's all they do most the time. Teachers rude to kids. I've tried to talk to the principal but am always told to go see the councilor. Ridiculous. My child is only there coz I have no choice with the zones. I will move this year and change schools. Also the children are dumb but it's not their fault they put grade 1 in the same class as grade 3 no wonder grade 3 is still doing 1+1. Shame.

I have had only positive experiences at TSPS. My kids love their community teachers & always mention how wonderfully they are treated each & everyday. In regards to the Principal, she has always made herself available & appears to always have the students best interests at heart. I would recommend this school to any parent looking to enrol their child in this area.

Truganina South Primary School for us was a terrible experience.... I had my son in that school for 2 weeks the staff were rude and demean the children. The kids are all one room and treated and spoken to badly by the staff it's shocking. I was so upset at how my son was being treated when I voiced my concerns the staff form packs to gang up on you there is no support or trying to work on issues at all the principal didn't ask me about my concerns she told me if I am not happy leave!! She was extremely rude unprofessional and abusive I recorded one of our phone conversations to prove how abusive she is to play for the education department. Because this area is zoned and so many parents being treated poorly by this school most family's are forced to home school or move I know of 2 mothers that moved and others now home schooling. The lay out of the school is bad and they just shoving in portable class rooms where ever to cope with the demand of the area. There's no proper layout or care to make the school anything. The principal and most of the staff should be sacked and new staff put into the school to organise it and run it better. There needs to be respect for parents and especially the kids and there is none. I should have gone with my gut feeling when I first ever went to the school and not enrolled my son there it was a terrible start to prep for my son and they didn't care less. Truganina south primary school in my opinion is the worst and I know a lot of parents that agree. My sons new school go above and beyond to ensure the kids are happy my son is thriving with the best teachers and the principal is fantastic. This school has a lot to learn about respect. They also man the facebook with an iron Fist they delete all parents comments unless they are comments they want to hear. Absolutely disgusting something is not being done about this school and the staff...

This school would be much better if the kids uses less iPads and do more with pen and paper. I know these days technology is important as well but personally I think they relay a bit too much on it.
Parents expect teachers to do the job and teach the kids reading, writing, maths and spelling, but it's not the case with TSPS (talking about prep) if I don't do more at home with my child he would not know half of the things he knows now...But what about some kids that their parents don't have time to do work with their kids?

Why would the school have to bring multi cultural teachers in to teach the "immigrants" students , you are in australia now start learning our way and intergrate ... they get enough given to them , I find the staff and teachers very approachable and understanding.. and it does not matter what school you go to , if your child is half smart they will learn anywhere , and as for "the poor kids" if the parents got out and found jobs , they wouldnt be POOR ... if your going to comment about improving the school your child goes to .. be smart about it ... my kids go here and they love it !

the Aussie culture is such teachers are called by first names besides primary school system is play only , studies get serious once in year 7 or secondary school hence parents should not get overly excited much as every primary school functions like this.

My son has been going to this TSPS since two years and I have found that instead of his knowledge growing it is same as it was two year back. The students are never asked to use their pencils to write so how do we expect they will write when they are asked to sit and write an exam for 2 hrs.
Every term my son informs me that he has got a new teacher, and thus whole year is wasted by students and teachers in understanding eachother.this school has the highest turnaround of the teachers.

also the community style of teaching is the worst type introduced in here. The students are mixed from 3 to 6 , how can you expect the teacher to give attention to a crowd of kids in one class.

This school is hopeless.

only has 3 rules and its shown respect none!! when I was at school I knew none of my teachers 1st names lack of respect by calling teachers by 1st name I never knew if my child was talking about a mate or a teacher!!! ready to learn if they have a lap top or net book if they didn't they were pushed aside and not even given the work on paper to do my child was always talking about free time and going on utube great way to be ready to learn!!! safety pfft what safety when kids are being bullied and it not being dealt with kids threating other kids that they have knives in their bags!!!!! and when you go to talk to the staff about your concerns they look like they are listening and concerned but when you leave it goes into the to hard basket!!!you pay for the book fees bring all the books home at the end of the year and there might be 2 pages used from each book the rest either hasn't been used or just has drawings all over it! homework none at all!!! the school is getting way to big should be capped at atleast 500 students as it is a small school with NO parking but as the principle gets commission so ive heard on how many kids go there she will keep cramming them in like sardines!!! the teacher turn over is terrible who signs their teachers on for 6 month contract it should be the year atleast!!!!!!!!!! all in all im glad I took my child out as he is doing so well at his new school

The Staff do not deserve to be applauded and supported at all. They are rude and terrible to the kids and parents. I read well into the comments here and the good ratings are coming from Teachers. As for there > respect ( They have None),ready to learn (Ipad shoved under kids noses) and safety (Kids being found out side School Gates at recess and play)and not by yard duty teachers. Nightmare. The kids are thrown out side to fend for themselves no concern at all.

After reading the comments, a few issues become apparent. I am in no way a staff of the school and both our kids attend this school but will forth my blanced view of the issue after having our kids there for some years now.
- Multiculturalism
It's fair to say that the area is very multicultural and this poses a challenge. Where parents feel misunderstood, it's a perception of being insulted. It's common to see this level of untoward communication going from parents. The challenge TSPS has is that different cultures have various expectations of what state funded education should be like and draw comparisons to what is familiar to them.
- Expectations
Education is a two way street. We as parents really need to take more ownership of education for our kids because no one else is going to. The school has grown in 2 years from 200+ kids to 700+ kids. I am the first to admit that we need more schools in the area but staff deserve to be applauded and supported rather than criticized in coping with that sort of growth and a school is only as good as the community it is in. The nature of any school takes on characteristics and features of the community it is in and I'd encourage parents to get behind the school as opposed to just continuing to criticize it and expecting it to meet your expectations. Doing so can only benefit our kids.
-Respect
The issue of respect strikes both ways. I am perturbed the comments about the lack of respect towards kids. We have not seen this with our kids, their friends and in their communities. What we have seen as parents is lack of respect by some students to the school, it's property and especially to it's teachers. It's well and good to speak about respect but we should look at our own back yards about what we are teaching our kids about respect before demanding it from others. And just for the record, no one is paid to respect anyone. You are paid to do a job but respect has to earned.

I can only summarize by indicating that while TSPS might not be an excellent school, it is by no means a poor one. The composite system allows kids of varying abilities to be catered for. Homework is catered for via on line learning platforms for you to work on every day even if tasks are non assigned. You get out of this school as much as you put in.

There is a prominent grammar school across Sayers Road which might meet the expectations of some of the parents here but let's be realistic. The school has grown exponentially in just 2 years and is facing all the challenges of a rapidly growing school and expectations from community. Rather than criticize it, we'd be better off supporting it as doing so will only help our kids.

This school is an excellent school. The learning system is amazing. The school communities place you in which their different areas based on your ability to do: Writing, Numeracy etc. people who say the teachers are rude are talking rubbish. I have never seen our teachers being rude and they respect us as children. Our three school rules are Respect, Ready To Learn and Safe. Now our school has iPads and Netbooks(laptops) so we are able to extend our learning ability much more. Please do not criticize this school because it is still very young. Only 3 years old. So all in all, I encourage parents and students alike to come and join our school!

BAD:\"If teachers aren't respecting our kids in the classroom, they shouldn't be there. This School needs a Principal who has communication skills and good leadership this School fails the principal Mandy is a bully along with some of their teaches. They have no respect for parents or students. They mock the students and belittle them. This School needs to be on the name and shame list of Government schools and the principal needs to be replaced in order for this to become a better school, until this happens there will be a high number of students move out of this school, parents in this area will suffer due to the lack of schools in this area. I urge anyone having issues with this school to contact the department of education and lodge your complaint against this school. If there are not drastic changes made Parents and Students will suffer.

It looks to me that staff from this School are leaving the good reviews here. This School has major issues. I am sure as more parents need to enter this school they wont stand for being treated poorly. The staff do not own this school and have no right to bully parents and students. The staff at this School are paid and placed there by the Government to teach the children with respect and work along side parents that's there Job. They also speak to non speaking English mothers and fathers like they are stupid. There is an urgent need for multicultural teachers in this School to help with the children with different culture backgrounds. Fingers crossed a new School will eventually come along. Its wrong that there is this great School placed here that cant be used by a lot of family's because of the terrible attitude of the staff. It would be great to see a protest from parents put forward to the Department.

Bad School, Not the School 'Truganina South Primary School' as such the issue is with the rude teachers and unprofessional principal that have no concern or understanding for the students or parents, I know of 5 mothers now that have taken there prep kids out of this school in the last month.'Truganina South Primary School' Other parents i have spoken with that are still in the School don't really have a lot good things to say. The parents are in a rock and a hard place because its the only public school this side of Truganina. Its a disgrace parents are being treated with such a lack of respect and the poor kids are spoken to terribly by the teachers. The children are taught laying on the floor with an Ipad under there nose most of the day. High level of non speaking English students but not really any teachers of different cultures and background in the school to understand the needs of the different nationalities of the students in school. Our children are precious to us these teachers should feel the same way and get over there ego trip and treat the kids with respect. These teachers are paid to teach and respect our kids, so why are they not doing it? Time for the Department of Education to step in. My letter of complaint has gone in and also to my local MP. So if you have had issues with 'Truganina South Primary School'you now know where to complain to.

Truganina South Primary School is very unorganized, the kids are just a number, it is run like a community to many kids altogether in one section the teachers don't give any personal time to the kids they are just glad to see the back of them. A Lot of parents pulling there kids out of this school. I think the School needs a better leader a Principal that can can put some plans in place so the kids feel like there part of a team and can have a happy time at the school. The teachers base everything on what the Education department asks of them is all they need to do, There is no duty of care to the children or care of any of the parents concerns. Basically if you don't like it there's the door. The moment you arrive you will see it for your self' Worst school ever'
I'm , rate this school
