The school churns out some good kids and some arrogant rich kids. The school treats some of its staff very poorly. The Head of Music is gutless and incompetent. The headline of brass is a manipulative micro manager. |

I enjoyed my time at Grammar. It's ethnically diverse, has great teachers, and generally there was not much bullying. |

I was a boarding school student. Overall a very good experience. Mainly the teachers were excellent and caring. Any rich school can have great facilities, but the quality of the teachers matters most. At Grammar, they were excellent. |

I am a current student studying here, I'm not high class but certainly not low class either. Despite, this I have never encountered bullying in any form during my time here. Although it is a school of a bit more snobbish boys the school teaches the correct values to these boys, such as humility and respect. The school has had no incidents relating to sexism either, unlike others. In regards to the intellectual aspects of this school, it has produced very high achieving result in VCE and has a long history of being prestigious in sport and academics. It has brilliant facilities such as a new 61 million dollar science and technology building. The teachers are also top of the line, with some being more qualified than university professors. In response to the other reviews above, I must say I think they are fake as such incidents would lead to state news coverage, which it clearly has not. Additionally, the school also provides many extracurricular activities that range from helping the less fortunate (we even have a student committee that runs charitable events and programs) to maths competitions and linguistics. Only recently have I realised how I have taken this school's facilities and teachers as well as its fascinating history and culture for granted. Please consider coming to this school, if it within your level of economic comfort. |

In my time there: a boy who came from a single parent family and whose mother was an alcoholic was bullied by teachers in class in front of everyone (eg. made to lick a broom, had a bin emptied on his head). One kid was called 'black bastard' and the n-word every day - including in class. A mentally unstable boy was standing on a window ledge and the rest of the class were shouting 'Jump!". Another boy repeatedly had his pencil case thrown at the fan so his pens and pencils flew everywhere. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. Excellent facilities though, and the music programme is superb. |

An inspiring place from the point of view of the teachers, tradition, being around some of the top students etc. Although it is very male environment which suits some but not others. |

Definitely one of the best schools in the country. Outstanding etching staff, wide array of extracurricular activities and sports. At Grammar it doesn't matter what you're into, at Melbourne Grammar there is always others like you. I have no idea what the first review is talking about, I have never encountered serious bullying (perhaps they should harden up), but the banter in the yard is second to none and highly enjoyable. If you have the money, send your son here |

Terrible school. I got bullied for being of a lower class than other students. Most of the boys are pretentious and a social hierarchy is definitely evident within the school yard. The teachers also act with a superiority that is over the top and unreasonable. One teacher called me "povo" once for living in the western suburbs, and then claimed it was a joke and that I needed to "lighten up". After countless bullying instances, I moved schools to University High school and was much happier there as it was more accepting of individuals and did not concentrate on class or money. |
