Reviews | By Parent - 17 Dec 2019, Rate: poor | IB programme not for everyone, very opinionated staff who do not listen to parent input. Endemic bullying of students that are often the most vulnerable. | | By Student - 18 Sep 2018, Rate: good | I went to Miles Franklin primary school it was an ok school there wasn't a lot of bullying though if there were the teachers won't help and you could be made fun of not to stereotype but me and my friend were considered the popular kids and didn't get bullied but there was a lot of drama though teachers where very friendly and you can talk to them for most things | | By Parent - 08 Aug 2015, Rate: poor | The NAPLAN score may have improved but there is endemic bullying at this school, bright students are being left behind and 90% of the teaches applied to leave at the end of 2014 due to the conflict between what the principal, Chris Jones, is asking of his Teachers and the level of support they are given to implement these changes with, which is almost zero. Students at Miles Franklin are leaving by the week and I will be soon to follow as soon as a place opens up elsewhere. At the request of the school, I have had formal assessments completed at significant cost to myself, which state that my child needs considerate assistance in the classroom, Chris Jones swore black and blue that my child would get this support but I have now been told by the special needs coordinator that they don't consider her a special needs child, on top of this she is being constantly harassed by other students and nothing is being done about it. Just a few years ago Miles Franklin Primary School was one of the best in Canberra, now most parents feel it is not good enough for them to stay. It's time for s new principal! | |
