In General is a good school. Something that I have found a bit concerning is when students participate in Gala Days.Eg rugby league, the teacher in charge of this students (young ones) rather have their own little meetings with older student and spend their time with their backs turn to the game at hand and kids are getting hurt they lay on the ground parent of other kids go and ask the children if they are OK, in the mean time this teacher(mr Sherlock) pays absolutely no attention to what just happen the students or the game. This not just me but other parents there watching, is very concerning because a child could have hurst themselves badly and not know it and later may be collaps and this teacher would not know what had happen to this child. The other thing is we send our children expenting that if they participate in a sport as encourage by the principle and teachers, we as parents send our kids thinking and trusting someone is watching over them as some of us cannot be there in every game. But the worst part is to see your child play a game and not have that encouragement and support from the teacher they need to support the team that is playing not talking to other students that are not meant to be there at that time. On Friday the 11/09/2015 a Dad was watching that the kids had no guidence on the game they were all over the place, he got on the field and started guiding them supporting them and encouraging them. it was already too late to win any games but I could see how this children follow this (dad's) instruction. Kids need to be encourage at all times specially by their teacher, not left to fend for themselves. Other wise why do we send our children on these sport events. and this is not the first time this teacher's done this. One day I heard a mum tell this teacher "excuse me don't mean to interupt your conversation but a kid's hurt pretty bad over there" he look at him from the other side of the field and he responded "he'll be ok, he'll get over it". The mum look shocked at his responce as he did not even move to go and check on that boy. I think the boy is name was Peter and go his on the head pretty hard. But he was not the only one that got hurt that day there were heeps of others. If Teachers do not want to be there, they should not go. we as parents need to know that our children are looked after when we are not there and when we are. What I saw was extremely sad because this kids try really hard to play a good game but when this kids look to see if the teacher says you are doing great instead find themselves looking at his back and that he is not interested in their game, they give up. May be that is why that group did not win any games. I watch the other teachers from the other schools and they were supporting them and if one go hurt straight away ask "ARE YOU OK" or if they did good. "GREAT JOB". Those kids felt encourage and supported. I guess that is why they won. I am just sad and worry, what if anything happes to a child would this teacher be able to explain exactly what happen. Or does something terrible need to happen to pay attention. All you need to do is be part of the team, support and encourage.
