Reviews | By Current Staff - 17 Aug 2010, Rate: good | The Toowoomba Preparatory School offers a warm and welcoming environment for parents, staff and students. Many parents often comment about the exceptional behaviour and manners which the students display.
The school tries to keep its class sizes small to provide an optimal learning / teaching environment for the students and teachers. Toowoomba Prep offers a wide curriculum to students from the educational side of things to sports and performing arts.
Toowoomba Prep is a family like community where past students often come back to reminisce about their experience and memories. | | By Current Staff - 30 Mar 2010, Rate: good | The Toowoomba Preparatory School is a wonderful community of learning for children, parents and teachers. Children are safe and happy, staff are valued and parents are always welcome. | | By Former Member of Staff - 17 Jul 2008, Rate: average | The outward view of this school does not match the inner-turmoil and lack of care from the Headmaster. There is a very large teacher turnover at Prep due to the lack of support from the top. The students are treated like numbers and the use of a very old England/Fashioned style of discipline does not assist in this modern world. One of the most surprising things for a school which charges so much and thinks so highly of itself is the notion of not getting relief teachers when a teacher is absent and simply pooling resources and distributing students amongst the other classes making class sizes extremely large and teaching/learning almost non-existent. The homework policy does not match the actual happenings within the school. The policy states that homework is to match the curriculum and teachings within the classroom, but simply is a time filler for the boarders each evening. On a positive side a high percentage of the students are well behaved and well brought up country children. If I was to recommend Prep to teachers or students, I would suggest to look elsewhere; however, after saying that this is a personal opinion and everyone has the right to choose their own place of employment or education. | |
