We moved to Beecroft after going through NAPLAN online ratings. However after my kid started within 6months realised this to be ordinary school as many others. Teachers look after kids who sit still during class and awards are given to those kids. Also, kids whose parents volunteer at school are treated special. There is complete disconnect between homework and class. I feel without home learning or tutoring children will fall behind, if completely relied on this school. Most of the teachers are more interested in Rating/scores than teaching right. Kids who are bit frigid during class will be given support teacher and main class teacher doesn’t even bother to re-assess these kids. Support/casual teacher words are final. Also, they ask to get doctor assessment for these which is incorrect. School doesn't know each kid is different and educational needs will be different. Most of the time, videos are played in class and not proper teaching. To many kids running around in small ground, no proper car parking for pickup and drop off during school hours, too crowded at school intersection post bell times causing small accidents, I can go on and on...Unless you are already in catchment, don't waste your time to re locate.

It wasn't very educational in Year 6, the teachers seemed happy to let everyone game all the time. Casual teachers are inflexible in the classroom, leading with a "This is my way, so do it, not complain" attitude. Food was often expired, way past it's best before date. Don't send your children here.

This school has helped my daughter learn a lot, however I do think you would do well to actually hire more permanent teachers instead of casual teachers, as the casual teachers run things differently, and kids may not adapt as quickly as they would want them to. While the teachers deserve respect, I still think that they should know that it takes time to build respect from a child, so maybe the casuals could adopt a more understanding approach to the students, instead of an authoritarian teaching style, which only provokes resentment.
