The school was pretty bad they always talked about what to do if you get bullied but did nothing when you actually get bullied and even if they do something about bullying they always punish the wrong student. Most of the teachers made a big deal over nothing and only punished the boys in the class when the whole class was bad. The homework was strictly just math and English homework and the English homework was just spelling nothing else. For sport all we did was capture the flag which was very annoying. However aside from that the school wasn’t too terrible I didn’t learn much but I had fun and I don’t see why everyone hates mr lee he wasn’t that bad.

I'm in year 4.I go to this school and my education is good.But,I get bullied.My teacher tried to stop it but it only went down a bit and then she gave up.Also,reviews saying mr lee is bad,he is a YEAR SIX teacher,they are meant to be strict.This school is great but DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO HARCOURT PUBLIC SCHOOL!

I went to Hornsby South Public School for 5 years and they were some of the best years of my schooling. My peers were caring and supportive. The friends that I made there have lasted for many years after leaving. However, I do agree that the school doesn't challenge students academically.

Although I’ve been in highschool for 2 years now, looking back at this school, my experience was quite good. All of the students there were extremely nice and the people there were of all nationalities. The school had lots of extracurriculars such as PSSA and the school dance group. The only problem with this school is the teaching - they didn’t challenge the students at all. I remember that once I began year 5, literally everyone was easing through all of the work like it was nothing because the work was so easy, even for the dumbest kids. They were literally still teaching us our times tables at the end of year 6, when we should have been far, far ahead of that. Overall this school is good in the social aspect of things, however for academics it is not the right choice. My friend went to Hornsby North and from what I’ve heard it is heaps better because they have good sports options, academics, social, etc.

I have been in high school for several years and looking back, I want to provide some insight into this school. I personally did not experience a lot of ill treatment from the teachers. Aside from one poor teacher (who left the school while I still attended the school), I personally thought the teachers were quite nice and amicable. Although this was my experience, it would be irresponsible to deny the claims of some parents and children who have provided contradictory comments. As my experience may have been an outlier, you should take it as a grain of salt. On the other hand, something I can confidently comment on is the academic performance of the school. When I attended this school, it was not great, and it probably still isn't. The teachers do not challenge the students and definitely do not provide the necessary groundwork to prepare students for the harsh conditions of high school. Although part of this may have been attributed to the harsher, more competitive nature of selective schools (I am attending a selective school), I still believe that this school could have done more to teach and prepare their students. Overall, although I cannot confidently comment on the treatment of students, the academic performance and ability to teach students well is something I find appalling, and other primary schools in the area can provide a better academic experience.

I've been going to this school since year three and I couldn't speak any English.I am in year six now and I have no problem. The teachers there are great and helpful and there's no bullying at all. There are great teachers that help you with work and become a great student. Miss Kean,Mr Moffat,and ms Wong were the teachers o had till now and never had a problem with them cause they are all truly a wonderful team.We have a wonderful principal and all the staff is very kind and nice to everyone. Our sport and library lessons are very well organised and all the lessons run smoothly. Overall Hornsby South Public School is an excellent school !!!!!!

This is one of the best schools. We have so many different extra curricular activities and you have so many new opportunities. We go on camps, go to the movies and we go to concerts. If your in senior choir you get to go and perform at the OPERA HOUSE. The students are so nice and welcoming. They are all very friendly and kind. The teachers are approachable and give you good advice. They care a lot about you and don't mind having jokes. Miss Kean is the best teacher. I would recommend this school it is really awesome and everyone is friendly and encouraging. If you're looking for a school to go to then Hornsby south is great. No one gets bullied. I have been here for 7 years and you get the best time ever. We do so many fun things and in your first day you'll be welcomed. Go to this school it's AMAZING

This is a great school. The students are friendly and kind. The teachers are approachable and they give good advice. They are very caring and encouraging.

Hornsby South is a type of school where teachers don't care about students when they are bullied somewhat or another. It's very disconcerning of the principal to not consider that situation! The academic progress made is exceptionally tiny!

I would just like to make an observation if I may? Notice how poor the English is of the people making negative comments, that tells me right there that not only are the children not committed into getting a good education but the parents critisising one of the best primary schools on the north shore cannot even spell and use proper english language. By the way Mr Lee is an outstanding teacher and the negative comments about him are unjustified. My son still talks about things Mr Lee tought him and he is in High School now. Hornsby South is a great school.

Sh*t worst school i am yr6 and i came to the school at yr4 and i think this is probably the worst school u will go to. their way of teaching is really bad and the students don't have a voice they r forced to do things. they have many anti-bulling programs but when u get bullied they do NOTHING about it they just dont care about students the teachers r horrible specially mr.lee and mrs.killick but mr.lee is the worst. u wouldn't wanna have him. firstly he embarrasses every single person and he has faves that's just bad REALLY BAD SCHOOL and they dont teach properly they just give us work and then they play with their phones and exept us to learn lots of homework... i am really happy that i am going to high school coz i dont wanna stay at this fu*king school the only thing i enjoy at school is probably my friends SO PLZ PLZ PLZ PLZ DONT GO TO THIS SCHOOL I AM TELLING YOU NOW...

they do not teach us many things, i am in year 5 and still i dint know many things that i should know. they just teach us old things and never move on and when we get a test we dont even know what some of the questions mean. the teachers always talk about bullying but dont do anything about it. i do not recomend this school out of 10 this school is a 5/10

Well... I think this is a really good school but sometimes they do not treat children very well like i mean their way of teachin' is good but they way of treating students is disappointing. But overall a good school.

I am not recommend this school.my child was attend this school over 2 years.Teacher was busy do not care children. I said to class teacher of bullying.also my child said to teacher when classmate bullying him.no changed.when I move home new school was no bullying and kindly teacher.they care.
