Excellent little independent with a great connection to the local community. Most children here will go on to the so called elite private high schools due to the affluent nature of Sydneys East, however the kids mostly seem very well mannered and grounded which is testament to the values the school helps impart. There are a few pretentious parents as you will no doubt find in any independent school but the community is general is both diverse, accepting and generous on the whole. Most importantly for me as a parent my kids are happy and love learning.

We are sadly disappointed in this school. I think the community is amazing and some of the teachers are amazing, but sadly I am sending my children to school to learn. I don't think it is the school it once was.
Co teaching definitely suits some but not all children. If you have a very bright child or child that has special or extra needs its a great school but if you have just an average child they will get lost here.
I agree with the comment about tutors above, a fair chunk of the school has outside tutors which at the fees you are paying is questionable whether the co teaching model works.
There is also no sports program and the school is very relaxed on discipline. Very few grades are at capacity yet no one seems to be trying to understand why.
At the price it now is per child per year I would question whether it is a good return on investment compared to alternatives.

I went to Claremont and I loved it. I love it being co-ed, it is so fun! I have now duxed my year and got 99.95. All students smart and good

We both deeply regret sending our children here. Total waste of time and money. We enrolled our boys when Miss May was the Principal and, much to our disappointment, she then retired and her replacement, Australian Jesus (or so he thinks), took over. If only we had taken the boys out then because academic standards plummeted to an all our time low, bullies were allowed to stay at the school and continue their despicable behaviour forcing all their victims to leave. Unforgivable! Quiet and bright students were ignored, neglected to be honest, whilst loud, rowdy, unruly students were permitted to shout and run around in open plan “classrooms’. All the very best teachers rightly left when their traditionally designed classrooms were converted into ridiculously expensive lounge areas. If we could turn the clock back we most certainly would: we would send the boys to the local public school where the teachers would, undoubtedly, do a far better job and the children would feel significantly safer. Not to mention the fact that we would save a fortune!

Not the outstanding school it was 10 years ago. Standards have plummeted in all areas and nobody seems to be accountable. Don't expect much for your high tuition fees, but do expect to have to pay for your kids to be tutored privately so they can at least do maths as well as public school kids or spell in English as opposed to American. Bullying is rife and unchecked. It is no longer an Anglican school. It is a Hillsong school with all of spurious self-promotion and everything is "awesome" or "we rock". Open-plan classroom experiment is a failure, an uncontrolled rabble with little real preparation for senior school I seriously wonder if some of the staff were made to put some of the positive reviews here. Instead of trying to make sense of this site, talk to real people and get the real story, you will find it hard to find someone who has something good to say about the school now. Objective measures back this up, like staff turnover, the amount of people pulling their kids out early.

Some of the best teachers you will find, who genuinely cater to the individual as a whole (social, academic and pastoral). A great school that has served both our daughter and sons and one that has a community that is hard to find elsewhere. Our children have flourished in all aspects of their life and it is an academically strong school.

Smoke and mirrors . Controversy with bullies . God will not turn the bullies into saints ! Year after year , the school loses good students .
Teachers are over worked and brainwashed . Although it is sad to see amazing teachers leave , you cannot blame them for doing so .

Classrooms too large and noisy, up to 60 children in one space. All the best teachers left when the school went open plan. Not a great school for boys. Also agree with too much religion and Hillsong.

Should not be a school for boys past year 4. Too much Hillsong religion. Fine for girls. Good academic results. Not enough playground space.

This school exceeds every expectation that I ever could have had, and provides top quality education in a nurturing, loving, safe and child-focused environment. Children are taught to make sense of the complex world that they live in, and are instilled with the values needed to develop resilience, kindness, empathy and compassion. My children could not be happier at this school, and thrive on the learning opportunities they are provided.

When I was in Year 3, my teacher who could not tell the class how many zeroes one million had. In the same lesson, a boy wrote a large number on the board, it was clear my teach did not know what this number was and said it was whatever we wanted it to be and named the number on the board 'one zillion'.
The same teacher showed us a video that we were 'too stupid to become atheists' and implied that we should just believe in the existence of god just because we were too dumb.

Excellent all-round school for girls AND boys. I've had a long association with the school that continues, and I have been overwhelmed how educationally focused it is for each individual. You won't find better co-educational primary schooling in the east.

My son attended Claremont College from 2008 - 2014. We found it an excellent school for him. We're not overly religious and found that aspect quite OK. I would definitely recommend you look at it to see whether it would suit your child - just go by your gut instinct - good luck!

My two boys attended this school and thrived. Yes it is quite religious, which we are not but the attention to their education was amazing and outweighed the religion. The teachers are very switched on and understood the needs of my children

We found Claremont College very poor on boys education - they seemed to be totally lost when it came to handling little boys. It is very sad as many parents are pulling their boys out to attend other schools. Last year we did the same and our son blossomed in a few short weeks. You need to think very carefully if this school is appropriate for boys education. Also need to watch the "religion brainwashing" that is occuring as well (especially if religion is not your thing).

Do not send your boys to this school - focus is on girls education.
