My daughter who is academically conscientious went to Kimberley College for just over a year. She learned very little in that year as her teachers were more interested in their own relationships, fashions and holidays than teaching. They also expected the students to deal with their small children in the classroom. Teachers spoke inappropriately about their personal relationships in class. After arriving home and telling me about an inappropriate assignment she was doing she never returned to the school. My daughter then had lots of catching up to do when I sent her to a proper school. She now has a science degree with honours and will begin her PhD in 2021. The teachers at Kimberley College never responded to anything my daughter asked, they bullied her.

I have worked at this school on a number of occasions and love the way that in Middle School team teaching is being done. I found overall a respect for individuals and different learning styles that I don't see much elsewhere. I found the term theme to be inspirational and only wished such 'out of the box' methods of research and learning could be done across other schools. I know nothing is perfect but if helping children respect each other and themselves is valued I can only recommend this school as a happy learning environment.

I was a student at Kimberley College, as were my 3 siblings. The teachers were very helpful and very supportive not just in regards to our education but also for personal matters. The 'no bullying policy' applied for everybody except for the principal. His way of 'encouraging' kids to behave or excel was through intimidation and threats against their education. Years later, the fact that this man still runs this school and can treat students this way infuriates me. The misconception that he is a 'good' leader or principal is just that.. a misconception. I'm happy for those who have a good experience, however for those that he decides to bully, it makes schooling alot harder

they say they have a zero tolerance bullying policy, i guess that doesnt apply to teachers, i was picked on by the teachers because i had to take medication, they ridiculed my inspiration for music and told me to stop playing musical instruments and they threatened to expel me because i accidentally ripped a piece of paper while placing it in my bag.
In conclusion, I do NOT recommend you send your children to this cesspool they call a school.

I'd be interested to know whether the phone calls & emails by the student in the previous post (dated 15 Feb 2018) were sent during the school holidays? For example, most schools are closed for around 5 weeks over the Christmas/New Year period, with admin staff generally returning a week before the school year commences. Would be unfair to give a school a poor rating if this student (or their parents) had an unrealistic expectation of a response from the school during the regular school holiday periods.

I was looking forward to going here considering they have a dance program that was more elite than other schools but could never get in contact with the principle. Organisation would be nice please but I’m happy at the school I’m at now because at least I get a reply when I email or a phone call regarding the one they missed or something. Neither I or my parents got anything back when enquiring to enrol at this school. Disappointing when it’s considered to be a school operating in a way others should because this definetly is not how a school should run if they can’t even reply to a simple email and multiple calls over the course of two entire weeks.

I have twins that attend Kimberley College, both have very different goals in life. I put a lot of research into looking for a suitable school for my children. Kimberley, is the whole package, it focuses on the individual, and caters for academic, non-academic and socially aware young adults. I could of quite easily put them into Sommerville and St Lawrence, certainly a lot closer to home. But the travelling from Brisbane to Carbrook it absolutely worth it!

I have two children attending here,one much more academic than the other and i am content knowing that Kimberley college can cater to both childrens needs. Excellent Teaching system and the children are treated with respect by teachers and Principal.No one is better than anyone else in this school.Mr Thomson we need more people like you in this world.

My son has just finished at Kimberley college and I'm so grateful to have found this school for him. He's had the best education I could have hoped for, academically, socially, and emotionally. Mr Thomson and all his teachers were fantastic, and the curriculum they provide is amazing.

Just love this style of education, the students are taught by their ability to learn, not by their age or grade. The discipline and behaviour displayed by these students is testament to the
"alternative" education. Seems so much better than the government system, a bit of individuality, rather than the "system". Couldn't be happier that our 2 kids are getting a fantastic education, both acedemically and socially.

I love this school. The children can learn in a caring environment and their education and work is adjusted to suit their abilities. All kids are made to feel worthy and are encouraged to think out of the box and have their own opinions. They are taught not to believe everything they hear or are told, and shown how to make informed decisions. My son has attended this school for years and I am extremely grateful for Kimberley College for giving him the tools and skills he needs to make a splash in the real world. Thank you

best school i have ever been to because you are safe and you can learn so much and you have these teachers that have a great way of teachingsom its a great school

The school is great there is no bullying whatsoever , however the work is very easy compared to other schools and because of the mixed classes is difficult to get the challenge you need (year 10s doing year 8s work and vice versa)

very poor attempt by an ego driven principal to reinvent the wheel ,Multi graded classrooms creating major work overloads for teachers. Naplan ridiculed by principal because it exposes the flawed education received by students. Top 1% of students pushed to excellence,The rest ignored then hidden by the principals rejection of Naplan.

My son has attended Kimberley College for the last 4 years and I am constantly amazed by the incredible quality of the teachers, curriculum and great tone of the school.

The student assessment figures are misleading as only a tiny percentage of students take naplan. It's very much a dumbed down curriculum...students spend 3 years (yrs 8-10) with year 6,7 and 8 level work and then have a huge catchup trying to move to senior.

My Son is a student at Kimberly. He was struggling at a local private school.
Since attending Kimberly he has improved in leaps and bounds in all aspects of his life.
