My son attended a goverment primary school , there were only a small number of students at this school being the oldest inner city school in Sydney CBD. With so few students attending that school ,there should have been personal attention given to all students, but still the majority of their children struggled with basics such as math and English. Please note that this is not a personal attack on government schools, as there are many great public schools in our system, but rather my personal account to explain my son's transformation. So when my son began high school he was automatically placed with the students that needed assistance. With the help and guidance of the Marist Teachers and staff, they incouraged and developed my son's interest in school again. By the end of year 7 our son went from struggling with his school work, to being place in the top three students in his year.From a below average student, to being offered a place in the schools Challenge Class for year 8. To say that we are happy with Kogarah Marist College would be a huge understatment. One thing must be said, given a student that wants to suceed and is willing to work hard , this school is second to none in delivering Quality Education to their students. I thank the school for taking the time to acknoledge all students that work hard Personally, as well as in front of their peers. And for taking the time with students that need personal attention and dont always get ackonleged for their efforts. My unlimited thanks to kogarah Marist and All their Staff !!!.
