I did not have knowledge of this website until now
PS all these are true (good and bad). This school could work on the environment and staff (super bias with older students [ignores when seniors use their phones]) but not all staff are trash and their are many opportunities for you to excel.
Also to the people saying that the people saying that the school is bad please don't, it's just their opinion.

This school is terrible. The facilities are run down and half of them don’t work. On a weekly basis there is human poo smeared across the boys bathroom and there are women sanitary products scattered everywhere in the girls bathroom. Everyday there are also upwards of 20 students standing in the bathrooms handing round e-cigarettes and the teachers are so oblivious they don’t do anything. The teachers for the most part are terrible and only focus on high achievers and show no focus to the students that actually need help. In all honesty the only good thing about the school is the canteen but it is still very average and overpriced. In conclusion carlingford High School is absolutely terrible and has made my high school years a living hell. You are better off going to literally any other school.

Despite the comments saying that this school was terrible, if the students focused on doing their work instead of writing a review on the school, they might get better grades. This school emphasises on being able to study things you enjoy and being inclusive to everyone. The students may not reflect that but the teachers certainly do. The fact that some of these people are complaining about strict teachers is not only amusing but shows how some students are naïve and do not understand the benefits of having a strict teacher. All in all, the school staff are usually actively creating an environment for the students to learn in safely.

I wouldn't agree with all the reviews out there. Carlingford is a great place to be. It's only my second year but I absolutely love this school. Like every other school, you might meet a few strict teachers, but, mostly the staff is very friendly. It is a multicultural school and everyone is pretty nice around here. There are also GAT classes for those who are high-achievers.

The school isn't actually that bad as said in most other of these reviews, I agree some of the teachers can be picky and the uniform policy is strict, but that is pretty much every school nowadays. There are some really good teachers here, but the 10% which are bad are the only ones talked about in these reviews. And you can't say that every school has all good teachers so your bound to find bad teachers in every school you go to. Carlingford High has decent facilities and although it has a high Asian population, it is still very multicultural. Don't get influenced by most of the bad reviews here as they are ppl who only think of the bad and students who get in trouble and complain about getting a suspension when they get into a fight - which rarely happens anyway (just like any other school). If you work hard, then you should be able to do good in this school, it isn't always the school that affects how well you do. For example, say you made it into James Ruse, sure it would be great that u made it into a good school, but the kids who go there get buried in work and don't really have social lives since they're studying all the time. Carlingford high school is a good school in terms of that. Im In year 11 so I have been here for a while now and know how life here is like. If you are thinking of coming here, do so, although it is a government school, it is one of the better ones that you will find :)

Deputys falsley accuse u of an event when they havent heard the full story as well as teachers being quite picky and try their best to fail us in exams... although some teachers r awesome shout our mr wilson, some teachers velieve we re dumb or retarded. Its is absolutely ridiculous

the school isnt a very nice environment because the teachers, the teachers are very picky and make your highschool experience a living hell. i feel like i am being picked on by the teachers all the time. i dont think that it is a very good learning environment, the students are very nice and supportive. there is no bullying. if you dont want to be at carlingford high and you are, then you should do selective test and try for a better high school.

Carlingford in all honesty is a terrible school these days in terms of it being a lousy environment to learn in especially if you are a minority (Minority being if your are not of Asian background), the people are mostly fake and ridiculously boring in the way that nobody has a social life and going to Carlingford is a social suicide, the school has a terrible rank for the amount of emphasis teachers put on it being an academic school, the school wastes money on less necessary things as apposed to air conditioning and much needed upgrades in the tech department, the school for what it is, is way to strict on its uniform for a public school. To sum up, Carlingford High is a joke and would be better off going to Cherrybrook or pretty much any other school.

BTW, Mrs Bhamjee is actually OK and nice if you get to know her, she is only strict in order to get students to behave well. It is not uncommon for GATs classes to do responses to open ended questions that the other classes do in subjects like English but in response they produce more and better work. So in some subjects curriculum differentiation is not always a matter of setting different tasks. I should know, I am a trained teacher. If students are disgruntled a bit, it is because, thankfully, they gave high expectations. "Better Socrates dissatisfied than a pig satisfied".

Excellent school with good academic results and the students have a good work ethic. Don't pat attention to the disgruntled number 1 ranked student who feels he should have gone to selective. This school is in Carlingford so many of the students parents may seriously have wanted to send their kids to James Ruse. But that doesn't mean Carlo is bad.

CHS isn't such a great school to be honest. If you are an above average student (B student) you will find the school as a waste of time. The gifted and talented class is absolutely useless they teach the exact same work as the other class and it's a waste of time. I got 180 for my selective (average mark) and I am ranked first in CHS which is completely insane and shows the ability of the students here. Majority of the teachers are average but some of them don't even teach and everyone just games during class (cough, cough COD). The students are nice and there is a good mix. Overall this school is better than Cumberland High School and Murfield High School. But if you are an above average student you will find the school is not teaching anything and you will need tutoring to catch up as every lesson is basically a free period at CARLO HIGH.

I went to this school back in the days where students had respect for teachers . I understand times change and teachers and students do lose sight of the bigger picture , Every one wants to complain how bad the school is but no one!! has said what can we do to make our school better . School pride has been lost by students and parents , who only worry about their own child or agenda . So stop thinking how bad your school is because maybe you contribute to the problem to begin with , If your teacher yells or keeps kids in after school You need to ask your self what you did you do to contribute to the problem . So WAke UP AND TAKE PRIDE in your self and your school, that is something all your parents have forgotten to teach you DON'T BLAME THE SCHOOL OR THE TEACHER

Teachers at this school have shown absolutely no compassion for my son as he is a victim of racism. All they have done is let the student off with a warning. I talked to other parents and they agree that the teachers are disregarding. One child said the teachers yell for no reason, have terrible tempers and even swore. Disgusting. Academics may be excellent but by far, the school staff and its system is dreadful. Do not bother.

School is horrible. The teachers aren't supportive of students. The head teacher, Mrs Bhamjee, swore twice already to 7C in 2016. She had dropped something and said sh*t without apologising. Another day while she was lecturing students, she responded with bullish*t. She also keeps us in all the time, wasting the time we get to spend to eat and communicate with people other than our class.

its a really good school. I'm currently a student at this school and I think that the staff and people here are really nice. there's no bulling, the school is clean and our music here is just <3. I'm in the band and vocal and it's really fun. so if you like music come :) (oh yeah and our school is known for being really good at music)

Good school with practically no bullying while still providing great place to learn and study
