Meriden is the worst school ever do not go there I hated every waking minute of it

1. The lockers are too small
2. The teachers are biased
3. The school hat is useless and expensive (for show)
but other than that Meriden is amazing, with lots of opportunities and MOST of the teachers are great

I have had lots of experience with schools in NSW and I think Meriden is the very best school. Great staff, great leadership. My family is very happy with the education our girls are receiving at Meriden.

i think this school is ok. the desks are small and the hallways are really cramped. The music building is nice tho. The stairs are a bit scary cuz i fell down them and so have many other people (they need to be more compact and WE NEED CARPET STAIRS)

Very overcrowded and not enough grounds. No room for students to move and no natural grass. Felt more like a factory than a school. Performs well in HSC but most students are being tutored outside of school for hours and hours every week. Quality of the teachers fairly average. Lots of nepotism.

this school has taught me amazing skills such as friendship building and essay writing but also enemy building. each lunchtime i am able to battle my peers with jousting sticks while wearing extremely flattering suits of armour. lowkey feeling myself every time i put on the iconic meriden breastplate and shield i feel so in touch with my past present and future meriden students. the community is insane too, once i won the fire-croquet tournament and they even let me ring the bell! talk about 'may we ever to thy fame'. i make my mark on my fellow meriden girls, nay, women, and i hope to slay more in the future. i just love it when to parnassus heights i climb, gathering lilies as i pass really enables me to bring glory to the school by word and deed. every time i breathe the fresh meriden air i just get the urge to wend my way. peace and love to all my fellow students out there, cant wait to see you on the hunting field!!

In all honesty I must say that this School does not adhere to its mission statement or any core value in particular. The amount of Toxicity & Bullying amongst Students is extremely concerning. The Quality of Teaching expires after Year 6. Honestly you’ll find more Qualified and much better competent equipped Teachers in a Public School. The School is run like a Corporate Company. They say that they are building Future Leaders but from our vantage point that is not the case. If you ever dare try to address an issue with the School or issues in a dysfunctional class (there are plenty!)you’ll be given a lot of Passive Aggressive Reactions by the Senior Officials.

very overpriced, can never keep their maths or science teachers. I had 4 maths teachers in year 7 and 3 science teachers in year 8. Very rigid and not good if you are not christian.

The land is so small to be a Junior School. More like built for a Coles or Aldi supermarket or a small local Library or a small Aquatic Centre with carpark. Junior School dont use much of the senior school facility except outdoor Tennis, outdoor small swimming pool and small hall. It's disappointing the School doesnt put much money on the Junior School facility, quality of teaching and the well-being of the students. Heard that the school psychologists are all fully booked out.

Is in the hotspot area. Two Covid case in a term. Another one in another term. No Covid safe plan. Most students are living in surrounding areas and hotspot areas. During home-schooled, all junior school girls are cramp together in one classroom. Swimming facility is very awful, is outdoor and no shelter. Girls swim rain or shine (but not thunderstorm). They get burnt on their back almost every swimming lesson weekly on sunny days. Sun rash only short sleeve but was not compulsory for outdoor sunny swimming lesson. No time to apply sunscreen when sports coach pushed for time. On a rainy days, junior girls stayed in classroom to have more screening (cartoon switched on) as it's a small school and not much outdoor shelter. Much smaller than public schools. Normal class time, more screening so teachers can have their own time. Only private school with no holiday care. Very small junior school and not much facilities to use. Left with paying for the teaching. Class teachers are the worst. Favoritism, rude and bully the girls!! You think teachers have time to speak to parents privately because it's private school? You better think twice. Easy to get in. Not as long waiting list as the other private schools.

School has significant problems retaining maths and science teachers. Most of the teachers are young and lack experience. Facilities are nice, teachers are kind and friendly but the quality of teaching at the school is definitely not worth the exorbitant tuition fee.

my daughter went to mlc after a few years at this school. it is a much better school, so welcoming, girls and teachers. highly reccomend

Such a warm, inclusive community. The Wellbeing hub is a fantastic idea and makes my daughter feel supported. Connectivity is so important especially during the lockdown.

An academic primary school. Fun initiatives and activities have decreased considerably over the years. Sad to hear what other schools do to create a fun childhood experience compared to the rigour here. Academics are important, but celebrating childhood is far more valuable. We need more balance.

A very nice, caring school with support for students with a range of abilities (gifted and talented program as well as learning support program). Assessments and homework are assigned with thoughts. Departments like music and sports have many dedicated teachers to cater for girls with various interests and talents. Girls are respectful, supportive of each other and happy with others’ success. Well respected principal.

don't ever go to Meriden if you have trouble with English cause I feel like most of the teachers in the English department don't even help you if you stuck on a question. when it comes to the assessments they only give them to you and not explain it. also, the recess time should be longer because on the way to the lockers it is so packed, and by the time you sit down recess has finished.

Must admit the class teachers in the junior school are terrible over the years. There were a lot of shouting to the girls constantly everyday and negative reinforcement method using traffic lights in almost every classroom. The class teachers seem to be stress out easily and have poor self regulation. This is not a good school for kindergarten when they are building their characters, a lot of Kindy girls are crying, class teachers are frustrated and told them to shut up. Forget about social skill, it’s not a good environment for social skill. If your girls are bright, they pushed the girls to the extreme with challenging useless unnecessary questions. However one day, if your bright girl did not do well suddenly just for one task. The teacher will called her “lazy”. The teachers usually left so there are lotsa teachers turnover. Students also left so class size can be small so is the very small school compare to other private schools. Pickup in the afternoon are a nightmare.

Our experience at this school was truely awful. Despite the small class sizes, very little attention is paid to individuals. My daughter was ignored, bullied, bored and disengaged as a result. Teaching quality was surprisingly poor, it has a high teacher turnover, and we soon found our their excellent academic results came from outside coaching schools which majority of the girls were enrolled into. The school has an obsessive rejection of any parental engagement, and lacks transparency and fairness. Environment was very toxic, authoritarian, and dishonest.

I know this to be true, Meriden School is a place where young girls are respected, supported and provided with excellent opportunities to excel. The culture is safe,effective and ethical. The school's procedures are consistent and reliable. Meriden School has a vibrant atmosphere and a cohesive community.

Can't agree more. They choose student captain/leaders not base on the kids talent but base on who they think is talented in their eye. The school report comment don't even match up with professional report comment.

My daughter attends Meriden, and based on my experiences with the school staff and students, and my daughter's, I can confidently say that Meriden is a great school. They have amazing students that are willing to give up their time to help someone new, and I think that is very important attribute in a school's students. The staff are amiable and extremely welcoming, and I am very happy that I chose to send my daughter to Meriden.

They choose students for special tasks / representation not on talent. Discriminate against those who dare to question or ask for help. My daughter is really struggling but when asking for help she is treated dismissively. The English department is the worse, but everything there lacks transparency and is generally unfair.

In this school you are recognized for money not for your hard work, wonder how they determine academic awards ??? not by your merits.
If a new student comes with money, then they get a student leader as oppose to a student who had been there and represented school activities and contributed to school in so many ways both in sports and academic. They are not even given any chance!!! do not like it.

The school is a nightmare, they do not care for students just for money, the school is highly unreasonable and selfish, I do not recommend sending your children there or working there!

If you can play tennis you are eligible for a full scholarship through the Meriden Tennis Academy.

Nice 'small feel' and excellent academic results, however facilities and sporting programs are somewhat lacking.
