I have never experienced such discrimination by the staff especially, but also several students. This school seems to care more about their public image than the students mental health. I have experienced first hand bullying by a teacher, which was half managed by other teachers for 2 minutes and then swept under the carpet to be forgotten like nothing ever happened. The principal is heavily religious, and claims that he is open to peoples choice and decisions to be religious, but the only way he shows his respect to our decisions is by saying “I’m going to pray for us now, you don’t have to pray if you don’t want to”. I remember a visit from a well respected person who attended our school assembly one day, and there were no surprises there when the principal went on about how much he respects people who don’t believe in the Christian God. He spoke to us, but it sounded like a speech that was written to impress this superior person and make him believe that the principal doesn’t force his religion on the students. This school makes every student feel like their marks determine their worth, and they don’t encourage students to collaborate. Everyone is very competitive, and don’t want to help each other in fear that someone might get a better mark than them. As a white student, you’d be surprised to hear how much I, much like other white students, are constantly racially discriminated against. The racism towards my culture is disgusting, shameful, and what’s even worse is that the school takes no action to complaints because they have the mentality that only minority groups experience discrimination. I wouldn’t be surprised if a white girl got expelled for upsetting an Asian, even if it had nothing to do with her race. If the roles were reversed- sorry no. The roles are reversed. And what does the school do about the constant racism towards white students? If you guessed nothing you’d be completely correct. I had to sit in a class full of Asian students, while we watched a “funny video” comparing white people to Chinese people. Of course it’s a very funny video! It was made by asians. As if racial discrimination wasn’t enough- this school does not care about the student’s mental health at ALL, and is it extremely ableist to neurodivergent students and anybody else who doesn’t have a noticeable enough disability. Their lack of support is ridiculous. They do not care to actually understand how we’re feeling. They recently began to force students to complete a mental health check in on a website that asks a few questions about a variety of things. The students have to select an option between very good and very bad. If they don’t do this every week, then they receive an email that they have to do it, and according to them, they are threatened to be sent to some superior teacher or the principal if they don’t fill the form in. No surprises here but, to avoid having to sit in a meeting with the principal, a majority of them just click the option that won’t have them forced to talk to a councillor about why they didn’t get 8 hours of sleep last night. Overall, the teachers are mostly lovely, some others make people not want to go to school on days they have a subject with that teacher (that’s how terribly they are treated by the teacher/s), but a lot of the time it feels like they are setting students up for failure. There are hardly an available resources for core subjects, and it causes so much anxiety on students, and even more anxiety when they receive a bad mark because almost everyone feels like their worth is determine on their marks. The favouritism is disgusting, the school prioritising personal gain and money over HEALTH and SAFETY of their own students is something they should be ASHAMED of. I do not recommend sending your child here AT ALL. The school fees are outrages and the marks do not compare to them at all. It is so overpriced. There are much cheaper private schools which offer so much more, and their marks actually reflect the price you’re paying for your child’s education. Yes the grounds look beautiful, because they continuously care more about PUBLIC IMAGE. They only care about profit and personal gain. The reviews I have read from people who don’t even go to this school about the students there are not surprising. What do you expect when they are sent to a selfish school that only worries about money? They will of course be influenced by the love for money rather than people’s feelings. I am so disappointed in the school. I feel sorry for the students who aren’t high achievers, or on scholarships, or who are white, queer, or have mental disabilities.

It's the best girl's school in the Inner West. Both daughters went there, graduated with an ATAR of over 95. | | By Parent - 20 Jul 2016, 评价: 较差 | It was better under previous principal. The current is scarily religious and autocratic, far more concerned with school reputation than duty of care to students. Things are swept under the carpet. They seem to focus on scholarship kids (who will keep school rankings up) rather than trying to add value to the general fee-paying students' education. Some of the teachers are great but hard to buck such an entrenched system. Look closely at HSC results, they have individually brilliant students, but the range of results prove that disproportionate attention is paid to the few that can bring glory to the school. The rest can pay for tutors (conveniently placed on school grounds). All this for fees of over $30K a year! | | By Parent - 09 Jun 2016, 评价: 优秀 | We moved our girls from a local Catholic girls H.S to P.L.C. One has recently graduated with a score of 99 which I must say she was encouraged to her ability, which she never received from her other school, which she experienced alot of bullying, and even though with numerous complaints from parents, nothing was ever done about it.Very happy parent. | | By Student - 11 Aug 2015, 评价: 很差 | senior uniform is very very ugly and much uglier than the ugly junior's,almost the ugliest in syd | | By Parent - 21 May 2014, 评价: 很差 | Although it is a good school, there is still a lot of bullying. I strongly advise to send your daughters to mlc. | | By Parent - 13 Jan 2010, 评价: 良好 | We moved our child from a Catholic school because we felt that she was being kept below her capability. She was not excited about school, had low self esteem and found it difficult to make friends. since moving she has flourished is now self confident, bounces into school and is still one of the top academic students of her peer group. she has been made to spread herself with music, plays, sport and academic work and has had to assess herself and her capabilities. i thoroughly recommend PLC if you are able to cope with the fees. a cost we feel is well worth it. | | By Parent - 28 Aug 2007, 评价: 优秀 | A beautiful school with great spirit, facilities and staff. Co-curricular programs are excellent, particularly sporting. Prestigious without too much of the pretentiousness. | |
