Teachers are insane, they won't listen to you if you have something to say. Things are never carried out. (e.g. there was a week of assignments, important ones, that were due all at the same time, and the head of middle school said told the teachers to fix it, none of them did.) And the school and it's staff play favorites ALL THE TIME. If you are rich and give the school money, you'll win prizes, get more opportunities, etc. The infrastructure is something that the school brags about, but it's not that great. Toilets are disgusting, and the most annoying thing? Any remotely cool thing is reserved for Year 12s, and while I get that it's their last year at the school, it's unfair to the rest of the students. Leading on to what I said about things never being carried out (and about the problems at the school never being solved). Teachers and staff often complain to the students about the things they are doing, and I understand that this is an issue, but at the same time, staff don't implement anything to fix it, and just expect students to do it. This sounds reasonable, but trust me, students need a little something, whether a reason, a consequence, anything, can't just expect things to happen when you vent about it. And the education system is slow. What people are taught is Year 7 here is taught at other schools in Year two. The school also expects students to be smart - and not just any level of smart - I'm talking about the I-know-exactly-what-the-teacher-is-talking-about-before-they-say it level of smart (real situation, not over-emphasizing this). Because of this, the school doesn't really show anything toward students who aren't that naturally gifted and you are just treated like an outcast - by both teachers and the students. Bullying is never really addressed, the school doesn't like talking about problems, simply because they don't want to acknowledge they exist. (Pretty much the whole school in, a nutshell). And for the final problem I will address, the expectations. We have committees in our school. Music, library, etc. The committees have meetings that run during lunch and/or recess. Our school has the braid system. You get involved in house/committee/sports/are really good at academics, you get a braid (which is basically a ribbon stitched onto your blazer sleeve. if you get a certain amount of braids, you get a pocket, certain amount of pockets, a blue jumper, the highest of all awards) . When it comes to the braids, especially for committee braids, you are expected to turn up for every meeting, take on jobs, and contribute. This is fine. But lunch times and recess times are when (for middle and senior) Have to change for PE. It is required to change in and out of PE, but the committee meetings clash, and if you don't change for PE, you get a bad effort grade (and PE doesn't have a grade other than effort). Of course, committees are compulsory, but they are encouraged/forced on us, and these clash. It doesn't make sense to do it like this. Another issues with the braids: they don't have an accurate way to choose who gets braids, except for academics, but that's dodgy still. I have gotten straight As in school and I got 1 braid point each time. You are supposed to get a braid point if you get straight effort grades too (or that has happened to certain people, mostly those who give money to/play a big role in the school). I know of people who got all straight effort grades and still didn't get any points. The system is flawed like this. If they had an accurate way to checking these things, and making sure expectations are met, then I'm sure things would be better.
And I'm certainly not the only one who thinks this. If you've taken the time to read this, then I hope you've been enlightened :)

the schools education is 3 years behind compared to other schools. in year seven you will be learning how to use scratch a coding program which is taught in year 2 at other schools.

I really dislike going to school every day I get badly bullied and none of the teachers do anything about it. The culture of the school puts a lot of girls down if they are not the best in academics or looks and has really hurt me and a lot of my cohort.

Amazing school! Not a biased opinion but very welcoming. Like a second home to many students and always a very open learning environment! Supportive staff, students and loving guardians. Recommended for all girls!

A very prestigious school where the teachers here truly understand each girl's potential in their learning. Highly recommended.
