I hate this school I was a student last year for year 5. I got bullied every single day. I once told the principal and he just screamed at me saying” NOT MY PROBLEM!” DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL!

Everyone is so mean and rude and I only work here to be able to put food on the table for my 7 kids. The principal is the meanest

All the good reviews have obviously been written by the school. I have had 3 children there and my youngest son still has a year to go. These days I hear only complaints from parents and nothing positive anymore. All the good teachers have left or conveniently taken a year off and never came back. I only stay because my son wants to be with his friends and it is only an extra year. The acting leading team, and previous one (who has taken leave for a year) ask you for feedback or to let them know of any issues with teaching, frienships or bullying and do nothing about it.
They favour the people that they like and ignore the others, even when the parents volounteer long hours to the school. I wish that I knew who to make complaints to as there has been many grievances, some of them serious, that have been brushed off. Many children have been moved to anothet school because of this.
The school is mediocre, teaching average at best, leadership inexistant except for inane topics such as school uniforms and the office staff is as welcoming and helpful as jail employees. Stay away!

Camelot Rise Primary school is an excellent school. The teachers' are all dedicated to helping each child reach their potential. They also make learning fun for the kids. The Principal is great and has an amazing ability to get to know each child.

No longer a school for gifted students. It is such a shame that such a wonderful school has gone so far down hill...there are a heap of average schools with average sports teams and now this is just one of them. It used to be something special where kids who did not always fit in could flourish. They didn't even bother with Tournament of the Minds this year...they have totally lost their way!

A basic school, nothing stands out except for the extremely rude office staff and shallow principal.

The school no longer specialises in catering for the needs of gifted students. This is not just my opinion, it has been confirmed by the Principal and staff. Their policy on this has changed. If you are looking for somewhere for your gifted child, I would not bother driving a long way or moving house to attend this school (which many families have done in the past). Their approach to catering for gifted students does not differ from what most schools offer, so I would do research on other schools before settling for Camelot Rise. If gifted education is not a priority for your family then I would say this is a reasonable school which covers all the basics well, but does not excel in any particular area. As with most schools it will suit some children better than others and I would go visit the school to see if it suits your child's needs.

I'm quite confused by the reviews here. There is big range of good and bad reviews. It would be good to understand what specifically is bad and what specifically is good. There seems to be a lot of reviews saying the principal is bad but as a parent thinking of sending their child to the school, I would love to know exactly what your issue was with the principal

I have been a parent at this school for almost 10 years and must say I can't be happier with the education my children have received and the caring passionate and hardworking staff and teachers that have delivered it. I have seen three Principals during this time and each have been different as they have changed the school from the small community school under Joan Fary (180 students) to the medium School under Bruce Cunningham (300-400 students) to the large school Kirrily George now runs with almost 450 students and growing. As the school has grown, the principal has had to adapt appropriately and change. This is, was and will continue to be a great school delivering the best education to the students that are lucky enough to go there. I?m disappointed with the previous comments posted here anonymously and would encourage anyone with a grievance to take it to the principal or write a letter addressed to the President of the School Council rather than attempt to destroy the great name of our great school for their own agenda (not one shared in the school community).

If the current Principal, Kirrily George, is not doing a good job, what does it take to remove her before more permanent damage is done to the school, good teachers and most importantly, pupils of the school?

The school has brought in a number of new teachers to compliment the existing staff in the last couple of years and the programs that my child is able to access are giving my children excellent opportunities. One of my children takes part in extension and gifted programs and my other child is happy within his own class. While there were some teething problems with a new principal I think the school has settled very well. As a parent I am very happy that my child is part of this community. It's a great school and the kids are all lovely.

Yes , school is not what it was. A lot of extremely talented teachers have left in the last couple of years. No longer caters for gifted children. It is now zoned therefore the geographical location takes precedence over any extension requirements a child may need. A wonderful school created by principal Joan Fary slowly being dismantled.

I agree with the last review. The new principal is rude and cannot relate to parents. The school has become very inflexible and no longer caters well to gifted students. Problems get ignored, bullying is brushed off and parents concerns seem to fall on deaf ears. It is such a shame because there are some lovely teachers there and wonderful kids.

Has gone downhill significantly with new principal and assistant principal. No longer relevant for gifted students. Just ordinary
