Hi Robyn H. I was in Fred Lowrey's opportunity class from 1957-58 and I value my time there and my great classmates, most of whom I've never seen or heard of since. I have mixed memories of the school in particular because the Headmaster who lived with his wife in a house on the school grounds, Harold Mathews, was a nasty bad-tempered man who would have been dismissed from his position today. Victor McMahon was a delight and music & drama were highlights.

This school is very diverse and encouraging. Our principal is excellent at encouraging nude food and healthy eating into kids at APS from as young as year 1. I still currently attend this school and will graduate next year. This school is like any other co - ed public primary school in Aus. It's academic rates are overall outstanding, but this school has some flares. Swearing is a problem, but has gotten better over the years as our principal is managing it well. Bullying is not very common. The staff are highly trained and approach children with generosity and kindness. We are constantly recognised for our achievements in and outside the classroom. I would not rather go any wear else but Artarmon public school.
